This position will work as a member of the Group Development team within CRH, a central capability supporting one of the Company's core competitive advantages: its decentralized M&A model. The role will play a key part in delivering CRH's long-term growth strategy through disciplined and value-accretive capital allocation, acquisitions, divestments and strategic projects.
M&A has been central to CRH's growth and value creation since inception and remains a core capability of the Group. Working closely with Divisional and business strategy and development teams, this role will support the evaluation and execution of opportunities across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the position include:
Support the execution of acquisitions, divestments and strategic projects across CRH
Support the end-to-end acquisition process, including market analysis, strategic fit assessment, due diligence, valuation, transaction execution, and integration
Support divestments as part of regular portfolio management activities
Conduct market, industry, economic and geographic research to identify opportunities and assess strategic attractiveness
Collaborate with Strategy and Development teams across CRH to coordinate and align initiatives across the Group
Contribute to the sharing of transaction insights, lessons learned and best practices across CRH's development organisation
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required ideally with relevant postgraduate or technical qualifications or equivalent in business, finance, or economics
4+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, transaction advisory, management consulting, private equity or a related field is strongly preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality presentations and executive materials
Solid financial (including financial modelling), analytical, forecasting and problem-solving skills
Project management skills for large and multidisciplinary projects
Strategic thinking
Action oriented and results driven
Highly motivated and comfortable working in a demanding fast paced environment
Team player with ability to contribute both individually and as part of a team
Proficient user of Office365 with experience of AI enterprise solutions a plus
Travel Requirements
Travel approximately 30%, with periods that may increase depending on transaction and project requirements
