Junior Spatial Capture Technician

We are looking for a curious and practical Junior Spatial Capture Technician to support LIVE·TEAM's new Spatial Capture capability. This is an entry-level role for someone interested in 3D environments, technical drawings, digital workflows, and spatial data who wants to build hands-on experience in reality capture.
You will support the team with preparing capture work, organising and transferring datasets, carrying out basic checks, and helping turn site information into clear 2D and 3D outputs. You do not need to arrive as an expert in LiDAR, AutoCAD, or 3D modelling; we are looking for strong attention to detail, confidence with computers, practical problem-solving, and a genuine willingness to learn. We would also welcome candidates from analytical or quantitative backgrounds who are comfortable working systematically with data and keen to apply those strengths in a spatial and technical environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Review briefs, plans, sections, elevations, and output requirements before starting assigned tasks.
Assist with site capture and equipment set-up under guidance, following agreed methods and safety requirements.
Transfer, structure, label, and back up capture data in line with team naming and storage standards.
Carry out basic checks for completeness, accuracy, file integrity, and missing information before handover.
Use AutoCAD and other tools to review and support the production of simple 2D technical drawings under guidance.
Help prepare 3D views, rendered outputs, point-cloud views, and other spatial assets under guidance.
Follow team playbooks and checklists, documenting work clearly and consistently.
Work closely with the Reality Capture Technician and CAD/Output & QA Technician to hand work over cleanly and resolve issues.
Manage assigned tasks to agreed deadlines and specifications, raising risks early and learning new tools as the workflow develops.
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
An interest in 3D environments, spatial data, and a basic awareness of how a 3D model works.
Good attention to detail and the ability to read and understand plans, sections, and elevations.
Computer literacy and a clear interest in learning unfamiliar software and digital workflows.
Confidence handling and transferring data carefully, including large files and structured folders.
Comfortable working to deadlines and following requested specifications.
Practical problem-solving skills, sound intuition, and the confidence to ask questions when needed.
The ability to look ahead, spot potential issues before they arise, and make sensible decisions within agreed guidance.
A positive, collaborative approach and a genuine willingness to learn, take feedback, and improve.
A basic understanding of AutoCAD and 2D technical drawings.
BENEFICIAL BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
A full UK driving licence.
The ability to travel to UK sites when required.
Previous exposure to LiDAR data, point clouds, laser scanning, or another form of reality capture.
Some additional experience with CAD, 3D visualisation, rendering, or technical design through study, work, or personal projects.
An analytical or quantitative background such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, or computer science, with experience in structured data handling, quality checks, or working systematically with large datasets.
Some coding experience in Python, R, or similar that could support data processing, workflow automation, or analysis of capture data.
Experience communicating technical work to non-technical audiences, whether through stakeholder-facing work, written reports, or presentations.
Flexibility for very occasional, planned work outside normal hours when a site visit requires it.
