About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We are Pramac, a Generac Company, leading the evolution to more resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy solutions.
Established in 1966, we have always evolved, expanding our product portfolio and becoming the global benchmark for the production of generators and warehouse material handling equipment. Our diverse business lines ensure the company is a leading player in a wide variety of global markets.
Pramac is seeking a Global Quality Manager to lead product quality across its manufacturing network. Reporting directly to the COO, the role provides functional leadership to plant Quality Managers, establishes common quality and control standards, leads improvement projects across plants and monitors global quality performance.
Plant Quality Managers report hierarchically to their local General Managers and functionally to the Global Quality Manager. They retain responsibility for daily quality controls, containment and local execution. The global role sets common requirements, agrees improvement priorities with plant leadership and escalates unresolved quality risks or resource conflicts to the COO.
Key Responsibilities
Global quality leadership and plant coordination
• Define the global quality strategy and annual priorities, and translate them into agreed action plans with plant Quality Managers and General Managers.
• Lead the plant quality network through regular reviews, shared problem solving and the exchange of best practices. Develop common capabilities and follow up on agreed actions.
Product quality standards and controls
• Establish common quality guidelines, control plans and acceptance criteria for incoming materials, manufacturing processes and final product inspection and testing.
• Align inspection methods, traceability, nonconformity management and quality documentation with Engineering, Industrial Engineering and local quality teams.
• Ensure quality requirements are included in new product introductions, product and process changes, and transfers between plants. Verify consistent implementation across sites.
Quality performance and KPIs
• Define common KPI definitions, calculation methods, data requirements and reporting routines so performance is comparable across plants.
• Consolidate and analyze global quality dashboards covering defect rates, first pass yield, scrap and rework, customer complaints, warranty costs and corrective action effectiveness.
• Review performance with plant leadership, agree recovery plans with accountable owners and deadlines, and report progress and major risks to the COO.
Quality improvement across plants
• Lead projects across plants to eliminate recurring defects, improve product reliability and reduce the cost of poor quality.
• Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions using structured methods such as 8D. Verify effectiveness and extend relevant solutions and lessons learned to other plants.
Customer quality and field performance
• Analyze customer complaints, warranty claims and field data to identify recurring issues and priorities for product quality improvement.
• Coordinate major, recurring or cross-plant customer quality escalations with plant teams, Engineering, Project Quality and Customer Service. Local teams retain ownership of routine issue resolution.
Supplier quality
• Define common supplier quality requirements with Procurement and plant quality teams, and coordinate supplier qualification, audits and development priorities.
• Monitor supplier quality trends across plants and drive consistent improvement actions for shared suppliers and recurring component defects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field.
• At least 10 years of quality management experience in multinational manufacturing, including leadership across multiple sites and delivery of quality improvement projects.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, product quality, supplier quality and customer quality management. Experience in power generation, energy solutions, industrial equipment, automotive or machinery is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and practical experience with APQP, FMEA, control plans, 8D, CAPA, SPC and MSA. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Ability to analyze quality data, build comparable performance indicators and turn findings into measurable improvements. Experience with audits and supplier development.
• Proven ability to lead through functional authority in a matrix organization, influence plant leaders and coordinate multicultural teams. Clear communication, sound judgment and structured problem solving are essential.
• Fluent English is mandatory. Italian and additional languages are an advantage.
