This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Clinical Systems Specialist based in the United States.
As a Clinical Systems Specialist, you will help ensure healthcare teams can confidently and effectively use the clinical technology that supports patient care. You’ll serve as a key resource for training, workflow optimization, troubleshooting, and system adoption across platforms including athenaOne and other clinical applications. The role combines healthcare workflow knowledge with technical expertise, communication, and education. You’ll create practical documentation, user guides, and training materials while supporting both new and existing team members. You’ll also help identify opportunities to improve processes and ensure workflows remain aligned with current system capabilities and best practices. This is a fully remote role with occasional travel for in-person training and support.
Accountabilities
Deliver comprehensive remote and, when needed, in-person training sessions covering athenaOne and additional clinical and operational software platforms.
Provide onboarding and ongoing education to healthcare team members, helping users build confidence and proficiency with critical clinical systems.
Document system workflows and procedures, ensuring materials remain accurate, current, and aligned with evolving functionality and best practices.
Roll out new and updated workflows to team members and support effective adoption and adherence across the organization.
Provide day-to-day system support, troubleshooting user issues and helping team members optimize their use of clinical applications.
Create clear, user-friendly job aids, technical documentation, training resources, and other educational materials.
Partner with clinical and operational stakeholders to understand workflow needs and identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
Stay current with software functionality, workflow changes, and emerging opportunities to improve system utilization.
Manage multiple training, documentation, support, and improvement initiatives while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail.
Travel up to 15% when required to support in-person training, new clinic openings, or other implementation and operational needs.
Requirements
At least 3 years of hands-on experience implementing, training, or providing support for athenaOne, with a strong understanding of its workflows and configuration capabilities.
Experience delivering remote software training to end users and/or supporting new-user onboarding.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Strong understanding of provider-facing healthcare software and clinical workflows.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
Strong technical writing skills and demonstrated ability to document processes, workflows, and system procedures.
Experience developing user-facing job aids, training guides, and educational materials; video or e-learning production experience is a plus.
Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously.
Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% for in-person training and support.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality system guidance and documentation.
