Dynatrace Expert Architect

About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Dynatrace Expert Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise observability solutions using the Dynatrace platform. The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on expertise across Dynatrace's full stack — APM, infrastructure monitoring, log analytics, and AIOps — and will serve as the technical authority guiding architecture decisions, best practices, and platform strategy across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect end-to-end observability solutions using Dynatrace across complex, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, on-prem).
Lead Dynatrace platform implementation, configuration, and rollout for large-scale enterprise applications.
Define monitoring strategy covering APM, infrastructure, network, synthetic monitoring, real user monitoring (RUM), and log management.
Architect and optimize OneAgent deployment strategies across diverse environments (VMs, containers, Kubernetes, serverless).
Design custom dashboards, SLOs, and alerting frameworks aligned with business and technical KPIs.
Leverage Dynatrace's AI engine (Davis AI) for automated root-cause analysis, anomaly detection, and problem correlation.
Develop and maintain integrations between Dynatrace and CI/CD pipelines, ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira), and other enterprise systems.
Build custom extensions, API integrations, and automation scripts (Dynatrace API, DQL, JavaScript/Python) to extend platform capabilities.
Define governance standards, tagging strategies, and management zones for large, multi-team Dynatrace environments.
Partner with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to embed observability practices into the software delivery lifecycle.
Provide technical mentorship and act as an escalation point for complex performance and monitoring issues.
Conduct health checks, capacity planning, and license optimization reviews for the Dynatrace environment.
Stay current with Dynatrace product releases, new features, and industry observability trends, and recommend adoption where relevant.
Required Skills & Experience
7–10 years of overall IT experience, with a significant portion dedicated to hands-on Dynatrace architecture and implementation.
Proven experience architecting Dynatrace solutions for large, complex, distributed environments.
Strong expertise in:
Dynatrace OneAgent deployment and configuration
Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and Real User Monitoring (RUM)
Infrastructure and Kubernetes/container monitoring
Synthetic monitoring and availability testing
Log Management and Analytics within Dynatrace
Davis AI, problem correlation, and root-cause analysis
Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) and API-based automation
Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hybrid infrastructure.
Experience integrating Dynatrace with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and ITSM platforms.
Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
Experience with management zones, tagging strategy, and RBAC/governance in enterprise Dynatrace deployments.
Excellent understanding of microservices architecture, distributed tracing, and modern application design.
Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate business requirements into observability architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
Dynatrace Certified Associate / Professional / Master certification(s).
Experience with other observability tools (Splunk, New Relic, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus) is a plus.
Prior experience in a client-facing or consulting/architect role.
Exposure to SRE practices, chaos engineering, or performance engineering.
Experience with ITIL processes and enterprise change management.
