Position: Mechanical Design Engineer CAD & Manufacturing
Type: Contract
Compensation: $40 - $80/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10 40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
Create and interpret professional engineering drawings for manufacturing
Translate design requirements into manufacturable CAD specifications
Produce detailed 2D and 3D models using various industry-standard tools
Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to all deliverables
Document manufacturing processes and communicate design intent clearly
Review and improve existing engineering documentation for clarity
Contribute insights on design for manufacture (DFM) and optimize parts
Requirements
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Inventor, Creo, and NX
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and drafting standards
Experience in manufacturing processes and material selection
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to precision and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration
Ability to provide constructive feedback and critiques on engineering documents
Demonstrated technical documentation skills for clarity in design intent
