Skills and Competencies
Deep subject matter expertise in the Energy & utilities (Electricity generation, transmission, distribution, B2B & Water), with experience in the broader sector including any of renewable energy, oil and gas, energy & commodity markets, metals & mining, chemicals & materials, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC)
Experience with managing operational & third partyrisk, across the Energy & Resources value chain
Strong ability to act as a trusted advisor, translating complex energy market, financial, regulatory, operational, and sustainability concepts into clear business value for energy companies, utilities, infrastructure providers, and other industry stakeholders
Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives, commercial leaders, risk professionals, operations leaders, and other industry decision-makers
Proven strategic and analytical mindset, capable of identifying emerging market trends, regulatory developments, transition risks, operational challenges, and opportunities to improve business and risk outcomes
Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting discovery, qualification, solution design, and complex corporate sales opportunities
Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, product management, customer success, and cross-functional teams across multiple geographies
Thought leadership capability, including public speaking, industry advocacy, training delivery, content creation, and internal sales enablement within energy sector environments
Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, data analytics, and risk assessment technologies, with the ability to apply AI responsibly to support energy market analysis, risk management, decision-making, and operational efficiency
Education
Bachelor’s degree required. Additional qualifications in economics, environmental science, operations, data analytics, business administration, or related disciplines are beneficial
Energy, engineering, finance, risk management, sustainability, or relevant professional certification are beneficial
Any business change, strategy creation, Go-To-Market (GTM) development, business transformation or AI rollout & adoption experience is very relevant for this role
Responsibilities
This client-facing role is responsible for serving as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor during the sales cycle, establishing credibility and confidence in Moody’s solutions supporting Energy companies, utilities, infrastructure providers, and other industry stakeholders. Other responsibilities include:
Supporting discovery, qualification, and solution design by aligning Moody’s data, analytics, and AI capabilities with energy market, credit, risk management, operational, and sustainability use cases
Demonstrating how Moody’s solutions can strengthen counterparty and credit risk assessment, market and portfolio analysis, infrastructure planning, operational resilience, transition risk management, and strategic decision-making
Elevating workshops, RFPs, and Proof of Concept engagements by applying industry best practices and real-world expertise across the Energy & Resources sector
Partnering with sales, marketing, and product teams to shape and execute effective go-to-market strategies, thought leadership initiatives, and market outreach activities, representing the voice of the customer
Leading strategic discussions with Energy & Resources customers, industries bodies and other industry stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on third-party risk, market, financial, operational, regulatory, and transition-related challenges
Guiding customers on applying Moody’s solutions to assess counterparties, identify market and portfolio risks, evaluate interconnected relationships, monitor emerging threats, and improve commercial and risk management outcomes
Actively gathering and translating market, regulatory, and customer feedback to inform future product capabilities, innovation priorities, and solution development
Providing internal enablement and training on energy & resources sector workflows, industry use cases, market and regulatory trends, and corporate buying considerations while supporting industry events and stakeholder engagement activities
Support and run Industry thought leadership events, including speaking at industry events and conferences
Support the UK, EU and Africa region for Energy & Resources, including global support for large international energy & industrial clients

The Industry Practice team at Moody’s Analytics is a group of seasoned subject matter experts drawn from industry, consulting, regulatory, and public-sector backgrounds. Aligned to core customer segments, the team plays a critical role in bridging market needs with Moody’s data and analytics solutions. As trusted industry leaders, the team shapes strategy through thought leadership, client engagement, and market insight, working closely with sales and product partners to deliver impactful, future-ready solutions across Europe and Africa and also globally.
