Role Description
We are seeking a very strong, seasoned, and motivated Data Delivery leader skilled in cloud native applications and modern data platforms (like AWS, Azure, GCP ++) and experienced in leading large client engagements in Data Engineering and Analytics with SI / ITeS Enterprises, third party service providers within the Data domain.
This individual will be a part of the Senior Leadership team, and will work closely with cross-functional leaders across Business units and Corporate functions to grow the D&A footprint within existing and new client areas, engage with market facing leaders and client partners, manage and mentor teams of SMEs, ensure timely staffing and fulfillment on work contracts, drive the financial planning & budgeting rigor, work with COEs to build new competencies, provide thought leadership, and support organizational and business development initiatives from a delivery standpoint.
S/he will be responsible for owning, tracking, and reporting the Delivery, Growth and Financial KPI metrics, and will report to the Global Delivery Head for Data & Analytics BU.
Delivery Portfolio management
Provide leadership and manage delivery across various client engagements.
Prioritize Accounts and Customer value: Rank Accounts and projects based on strategic importance, urgency etc. to ensure the most critical ones get priority attention
Allocate Resources: Ensure that the necessary resources (e.g., budget, personnel, technology) are allocated efficiently across the portfolio.
Portfolio wide Performance Metrics and Analysis: Use effective KPIs to measure the success and impact of projects within the portfolio.
Optimize Resource Utilization: Monitor resource usage to avoid overallocation or underutilization, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
Track Project Progress: Regularly review the status of ongoing projects to ensure they are on track with their timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Generate Reports: Provide detailed reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and any necessary adjustments.
Risk Management - Proactively identify potential risks that could impact the portfolio, such as resource constraints, technical challenges, or market changes. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks, ensuring minimal disruption to project execution.
Stakeholder Engagement: Effective Communication framework with all Stakeholders. Manage Expectations: Ensure stakeholders are informed about project statuses, potential risks, and any changes to the portfolio.
Effective communication on delivery commitments, and their execution as per the contractual agreement and statement of work.
Ensure compliance and governance around service level and contractual obligations.
Accord the right level of urgency to the financial planning analysis and budgeting aspects at the project / portfolio level, forward looking planning on revenue projections, staffing capacity, and review the same periodically along with key internal stakeholders.
Take stock of delivery teams’ performance score cards on a regular basis.
Ensure that best practices and standards are implemented and followed across the services. Work with delivery managers to identify and implement process improvements to drive overall delivery excellence, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
Client Engagements Management
Actively engage with client-side stakeholders and Coforge Client Partners to understand their data solutions needs, provide data-driven insights, and align our data solutions & capabilities with strategic business objectives.
Demonstrate high quality articulation in communication (oral and written) with customers / stakeholders.
Build strong partnerships with client stakeholders / business sponsors to continually improve and grow our book of work and forge new opportunities.
Be the single point of contact for the entrusted portfolio of clients from the D&A service line.
Team Management
Provide strong leadership to a diverse team of data professionals, including data engineers, data scientists, analytics engineers, business analysts, and ML engineers.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture with the D&A teams.
Recruit, grow and retain top performing talent, and manage career paths by coaching, mentoring and motivating teams.
Strategizes and executes staffing demand projections and fulfilments. Work closely with Talent Acquisition and Resource Deployment Groups to ensure timely fulfilment and revenue assurance, manage optimum resource utilization and staff rotation.
Drive and champion a culture of continuous learning and upskilling.
Actively collaborate with HR to set up team goals and performance appraisal activities.
Ensure that communications across and within the delivery teams is frequent, valuable, and relevant.
Build / maintain a strong second layer of leadership to manage data delivery teams within an optimized pyramid.
Capability Development and Thought leadership.
Constantly innovate and create new solutions/accelerators/POVs that map to the latest marketplace requirements.
Define and Update the best practices & repeatable methodologies in Cloud Data Engineering, including Data Storage, ETL, Data Integration & Migration, Data Warehousing and Data Governance, etc.
Create and maintain a pool of certified SMEs in various cloud data engineering applications and modern data platforms / services.
Partnerships and Industry Networking
Work with the Executive leadership and market facing teams on formulating differentiated partnerships, Co-selling, GTM strategies.
Engage with various Data Industry forums and leading Research & Analyst firms to create a desired industry profile for Coforge’s Data and Analytics Capabilities and Service offerings.
Actively participate in key Industry conferences and seminars to stay abreast with the latest in emerging Data platforms and applications in line with organizational priorities.
Educational Qualifications & Tech. requirements, and relevant experience
A technical UG Degree with a strong academic record (B. Tech / bachelor’s in engineering in Comp. Sc. / ECE / IT etc. streams.
M. Tech / M.S. / MBA, from Tier 1 / Tier 2 campuses (good to have).
Certifications / credentials in Data Management, Cloud Data Platforms like – Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake DB, Databricks, ETL platforms, etc.
Hands-on experience of working on most of the Data Tech stack including technologies such as Python, SQL, Big Data stack – Spark, PySpark, Scala, Hadoop, NoSQL, Kafka, and BI tools like Power BI & Tableau, etc.
Strong know-how in Data Warehousing ETL Design, Data Architecture, Data Management / MDM, Data Quality, Data Governance tools and frameworks.
Strong experience of working in two or more domains including Banking (BFS) & Asset / Wealth Management, Insurance, Healthcare, Travel Transport & Hospitality, etc.
Overall ~20 years of experience in the Data domain, working with top tier SIs and Tech organizations, with ~5+ years in leadership roles.
