The Cluster Director of Engineering leads the engineering and maintenance functions across both properties. The role is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of buildings, equipment, utilities and infrastructure, while protecting the guest experience and maintaining each property’s standards.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Operations
Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for guest accommodation, public areas, kitchens, spa facilities, staff areas and back-of-house operations.
Ensure that electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, water treatment, fire protection and other critical systems operate effectively.
Respond promptly to urgent faults and coordinate repairs with minimal disruption to guests and operations.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, breakdowns, equipment and contractor work.
Cluster Leadership
Manage, coach and schedule the engineering teams across both properties.
Set clear priorities for each property and allocate staff and resources according to operational needs.
Work closely with Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Security, Finance and People & Culture teams.
Establish consistent engineering procedures while addressing the distinct needs of each property.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure engineering activities follow applicable health, safety, environmental and fire safety requirements.
Conduct routine inspections, identify risks and take timely corrective action.
Maintain emergency response procedures and support business continuity planning.
Supervise contractors and ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard.
Projects and Financial Management
Prepare and manage engineering operating and capital expenditure budgets.
Plan refurbishments, equipment replacements and improvement projects in coordination with property leadership.
Review quotations, monitor project timelines and control costs without compromising quality or safety.
Track utility consumption and identify practical opportunities to reduce energy and water use.
Guest Experience and Property Standards
Ensure maintenance requests affecting guests receive appropriate priority and follow-through.
Maintain the appearance, functionality and quality of all facilities.
Investigate recurring defects and implement lasting solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related field.
Significant engineering or facilities management experience, preferably within luxury hotels or resorts.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing budgets, contractors and capital projects.
Strong working knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance and workplace safety.
Excellent planning, problem-solving, communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work across two properties and respond to operational emergencies when required.

Guest feedback relating to facilities and maintenance.
