Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will play a key part in developing and growing the lifecycle service business for ABB protection relays within your designated region. You will work closely with local ABB Service units, supporting them with technical and commercial expertise, identifying new business opportunities from the installed base, and helping them deliver high-quality services to their customers.
You will combine technical knowledge with a strong commercial mindset by preparing viable service quotations, supporting sales activities, and providing training and guidance to local teams. Building strong relationships, maintaining active communication across the region, and driving profitable growth will be central to your success in this role.
The work model for this role is hybrid, with an expected travel requirement of approximately 30–50 days per year. The position is based in Vaasa, Finland.
This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification Service division within the Electrification Business Area and covering the designated countries mainly in Middle East and Africa region.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Supporting local ABB Service units in your designated region in delivering high-quality lifecycle services to their customers
Preparing commercially and technically sound quotations related to ABB protection relay lifecycle services
Providing product, application, and service training to local ABB Service units within your assigned region
Identifying and developing new business opportunities based on installed-base information and customer needs
Maintaining regular communication with local ABB Service units and ensuring effective information sharing across the region
Taking ownership of the sales budget and business performance for your assigned region
Supporting local colleagues and contributing actively to collaboration across the wider organization
Acting as a trusted technical and commercial partner for local Service units in matters related to protection relay lifecycle services.
Qualifications for the role:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field
Demonstrated knowledge of protection relays, secondary systems, or medium-voltage electrical distribution networks
Few years of experience in a technical sales, service engineering, or application engineering role within an international or B2B environment
Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to deliver customer presentations and technical training
Fluent in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
Commercial mindset with a collaborative and open-minded approach, and eagerness to learn and develop
Willingness to travel approximately 30–50 days per year
