Sr. Software Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with 3-8 years of experience in backend development, workflow orchestration, asynchronous programming, and modern web technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with workflow engines such as Temporal, Cadence, Camunda, or Flowable, along with strong Python and React development skills. You will design and build reliable, scalable, and observable distributed applications involving complex workflows and asynchronous processes.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable workflow-driven applications and distributed systems.
Develop and manage workflows using platforms such as Temporal, Cadence, Camunda, or Flowable.
Build robust backend services and APIs using Python.
Implement asynchronous and concurrent programming patterns for high-performance applications.
Develop responsive and reusable UI components using React.js .
Design workflow activities, retries, timeouts, error handling, compensation, and failure-recovery mechanisms.
Build reliable integrations between microservices, APIs, databases, and workflow systems.
Implement monitoring and observability across applications and distributed workflows.
Work with logs, metrics, and distributed tracing to identify and troubleshoot production issues.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, testing, and production support.
Follow software engineering best practices around security, performance, maintainability, and reliability.

3-8 years of professional software development experience, with relevant experience in workflow orchestration, Python/backend development, asynchronous programming, React, and application observability.
Backend and Programming:
Strong programming experience in Python.
Good understanding of asyncio, async/await, concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
Experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices concepts.
Workflow and Orchestration:
Hands-on experience with one or more of Temporal, Cadence, Camunda, Flowable,
Understanding of: Workflow orchestration and state management, long-running workflows, workflow/activity execution, retries and timeouts, Error handling and failure recovery, idempotency, Event-driven and asynchronous architectures, Workflow versioning and reliability,
Frontend:
Good experience with React.js .
Experience building reusable UI components and integrating frontend applications with backend APIs.
Understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend development practices.
Observability:
Experience implementing and troubleshooting application observability.
Strong understanding of logging, metrics, distributed tracing, application monitoring, and alerting.
Experience with tools/frameworks such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Kafka or other event-streaming platforms.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
Experience designing highly available and fault-tolerant systems.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
