Job Summary
The Plant Supply Chain Manager at General Mills India Private Limited is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all supply chain activities within a manufacturing plant. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, production planning, inventory management, and timely delivery of finished goods, directly contributing to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans for the plant, aligning with overall company objectives and market demands.
* Manage end-to-end material flow, from raw material procurement to finished goods distribution, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing waste.
* Lead and optimize production planning and scheduling processes to meet production targets and customer order fulfillment.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and quality teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
* Implement and manage inventory control systems, including cycle counting, variance analysis, and root cause problem-solving.
* Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain, leveraging lean principles and best practices.
* Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards.
* Develop and manage the plant's supply chain budget, monitoring expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
* Recruit, train, and mentor supply chain personnel, fostering a high-performing and engaged team.
* Utilize data analytics and reporting to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive informed decision-making.
*Scope will include MRP, PPC, Indirect purchasing & Plant Logistics.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
* Preferably 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the FMCG sector.
* Proven experience in production planning, inventory management, logistics, and procurement.
* Strong understanding of supply chain principles, best practices, and relevant technologies (e.g., ERP systems like SAP).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
