Greif is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations within our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production equipment and facility systems while minimizing downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance leader who can effectively manage teams, develop preventive maintenance strategies, drive operational excellence, and foster a strong safety culture.
What You'll Do
As Maintenance Manager, you will provide leadership and direction for the facility’s maintenance team, ensuring equipment reliability, facility compliance, and efficient execution of maintenance activities. You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and other functional teams to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the daily activities of the maintenance department to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous facility operations.
Manage maintenance technicians and support troubleshooting efforts to minimize production disruptions and prevent equipment failures.
Review daily productivity reports and conduct inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility-related issues.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and equipment improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Procure replacement parts, tools, and equipment necessary to support manufacturing operations.
Oversee the design, fabrication, installation, and startup of in-house equipment and machinery improvements.
Establish and execute maintenance strategies aligned with operational goals and company objectives.
Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), machine guarding, and safe work practices.
Communicate departmental goals and expectations while fostering a positive, engaged, and accountable team culture.
Recruit, train, coach, and develop maintenance personnel to support team and organizational success.
Conduct performance evaluations, recommend compensation changes, and administer corrective actions when necessary.
Maintain oversight of all facility maintenance activities and infrastructure systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
8-12 years of maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial operations experience.
Previous experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
Engineering background or experience is preferred.
Demonstrated success implementing preventive maintenance and equipment reliability programs.
Experience managing maintenance projects and capital improvements.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and industrial safety practices.
Experience supporting facility infrastructure, inspections, and regulatory compliance programs.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations and maintenance best practices.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and computerized systems.
Experience assembling, disassembling, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Effective leadership and team management skills.
Experience maintaining required facility inspection records and documentation, including:
Fire suppression systems
Backflow prevention and RPZ systems
Elevators
Boilers
Air compressors
Dust collection systems
Other facility-related systems
Experience managing departmental timekeeping and labor records.
Knowledge of OSHA-related maintenance documentation and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of environmental reporting and recordkeeping requirements associated with maintenance operations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and maintenance systems; experience with ERP systems such as Great Plains or similar platforms is a plus.

Compensation Range:
The pay range for this position is $85,000.00 - $144,700.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between90,000.00 to105,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
