About the Role:
As a Jumbo Operator with Dumas, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of jumbo drills to perform underground development drilling. This role is critical to advancing mine development while maintaining strict adherence to safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate jumbo drills to perform accurate drilling for development headings according to line and grade specifications.
Install ground support as required, including bolts and mesh.
Ensure compliance with Dumas and site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting all issues promptly.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet production targets.
Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
All other duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
Previous experience operating jumbo drills in an underground mining environment.
Valid Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core certification.
Strong knowledge of drilling and blasting techniques.
Ability to work in physically demanding and confined environments.
Excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
