Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Rolling Stock Mechanical Services Manager. The role is responsible for managing the Rolling Stock Mechanical Services Group, which currently consists of eight experienced consultants, including six full-time employees and two part-time employees. Team members possess industry experience ranging from 10 years to more than 40 years.

Your role
· Manage group billability, with a target of 90%.
· Balance workloads across group members to ensure resources remain billable without being overloaded.
· Hire new team members as workloads increase or specialized skills are required to support project activities.
· Lead annual and mid-year performance reviews for all group members.
· Approve weekly timesheets for group members.
· Approve travel requests for group members.
· Approve employee expense reports.
· Work with the Rolling Stock Group Lead to determine annual merit increases and promotions, as appropriate.
· Ensure all group members complete required corporate obligations, including mandatory training.
· Support team members with technical, corporate, and HR-related questions.
· Support business development activities through proposal input and personnel recommendations.
· Manage personal billability, with a target of 80%.
· Project Management.
· Providing vehicle mechanical system expertise to internal and external clients.
· Participating in specification reviews, design reviews, first article inspections, and testing of rail vehicle components and systems.
· Providing feedback and reports to clients and vehicle manufacturers based on specifications, designs, regulations, and professional experience.
· Managing all aspects of client assignments, including estimating, tendering, planning, and execution.
· Ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
· Ensure each assignment or project is performed by individuals or teams with the appropriate qualifications, professional expertise, and experience.
· Ensure team members clearly understand their roles and responsibilities on each assignment or project.

About you
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10 years of experience in the rail industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Professional Engineering designation is desirable.
· Experience with passenger rail vehicles, including passenger cars, locomotives, streetcars, and light rail vehicles.
· Project Management experience is desirable.
· Ability to read, write, and communicate in a language in addition to English is an asset.
· Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required.

Additional information
Expected compensation range is between 170,000- $210,000 annually depending on skills and experience.
