Structural Design

The Structural Designer is responsible for leading and governing structural design for multiple projects within the cluster. The role ensures safe, cost-effective and code-compliant structural solutions, drives design standardization, and manages consultants and internal teams to deliver high-quality structural design outcomes aligned with business objectives.

Ability to apply structural engineering principles and utilize software tools (such as SAP2000 / MIDAS / OAYSIS / ETABS / STAAD.Pro, etc., as applicable) to evaluate and analyze the behavior of structure (such as precast / structural steel / reinforced concrete / pre-stressed concrete / 3D printed etc.) under various loads and conditions, ensuring their safety, serviceability, stability, and performance in alignment with regulatory and statutory requirements
Ability to apply knowledge of concrete properties and behavior to design structural elements (such as beams, slabs, columns, foundations, cut and cover box tunnel, U-section, super structure (I-Girder, Pi-Girder, U-Girder, Box Girder)), using suitable systems (such as pre-stressed, reinforced, post-tensioned systems) to ensure structural integrity and optimal design in adherence with applicable design standards

Ability to utilize advanced knowledge of quantity estimation, construction sequencing and execution planning to develop Good for Construction drawings (GFC), incorporating all execution level detailing, specifications and shop drawings that align with project goals and regulatory requirements
Ability to apply knowledge of principles and technical requirements of various disciplines (e.g. - Architectural / Structural / Mechanical / Electrical / ELV / Plumbing system / ICT system / sustainability and other functional systems etc.) and understand interdependencies while bidding / planning / designing / executing / supporting (as applicable) construction projects
Ability to apply knowledge of architectural and engineering drawing standards with respect to Drawing Control Index (DCI) to read, analyze, and interpret various types of technical drawings, including blueprints, schematics, detailed drawings, GFC drawings and shop drawings to understand design specifications, dimensions, materials, and construction methods essential for successful engineering design, project planning and execution
Ability to apply knowledge of local / regional / national and international (as applicable) construction-specific regulations and standards related to design, execution, quality, environment and safety (ISO standards / BIS / BSI / ACI / ASTM / NBC / ASHRAE / IGBC / IEEE and other standards applicable to the specific area of work) as per the project requirements and interpret their implications on construction projects to ensure integration into workflows and documentation and compliance with industry standards and safety, environment and quality assurance requirements
Ability to utilize software like STAAD Pro, CIVIL3D, REVIT, AutoCAD, BIM, and others for structural analysis, ground elevation modeling, and design data transfer. Ability to estimate stability of earthen slopes and modify design calculations as per project requirements. Ability to optimize and integrate engineering solutions using digital tools.
Ability to use niche software like Mx CANAL for high-volume river interlinking canals, Rapt for transportation engineering, and Midas Bridges for bridge design and BoQ estimation. Ability to optimize structures and assess feasibility based on project requirements.
Ability to design structural foundations and earthworks using geotechnical modeling. Conducts SBC/pile capacity analysis, ground improvement, and earth pressure calculations. Validates lab results with field tests and recommends compaction procedures for backfilling.
Ability to utilize knowledge of engineering principles, mathematical analysis, material behavior, design standards, performance criteria, and project-specific requirements to perform structured and traceable computations that inform, validate, and support engineering design decisions, ensuring that proposed solutions are technically sound, functionally effective, compliant with applicable regulations, and aligned with the overall objectives and constraints of the project.
