About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Are you ready to join Connecticut Innovation’s vibrant community of innovators? Connecticut Innovations (“CI”) is Connecticut’s strategic venture capital arm, and we are passionate about serving our portfolio of 220+ companies across various industries, with strengths in life sciences, technology, and climate tech.
Come join one of our quickly growing portfolio companies, Coinbax - The Trust Layer for Stablecoin Payments!
Coinbax builds payment controls for programmable money: programmable escrow, multi-party approvals, spend limits, reversibility, and policy enforcement for stablecoin and modern payments.
Banks and credit unions are being asked to support digital dollars, but the rails as they exist offer no approvals, no limits, and no recourse. We add the control layer institutions already expect from payments, without a rip-and-replace of the core they run today. Our platform is accessible to 7,400+ community institutions through our Jack Henry integration, and our smart contracts are independently audited by Consensys Diligence.
We closed our seed round in December 2025, led by BankTech Ventures with participation from Paxos, SpringTime Ventures, and Connecticut Innovations. We are a small, senior team shipping quickly with live design partners, including Finex Credit Union.
Coinbax is led by Peter Glyman, who co-founded Geezeo (acquired by Jack Henry) and went on to drive embedded payments and crypto strategy at Jack Henry. The founding team knows how banks buy, integrate, and scale infrastructure — which means you'll be building for real adoption, not speculative use cases.
Vice President Operations
We're looking for our first operations leader: someone who will personally run customer onboarding today and build the foundation that scales with us. You'll own the customer experience from signed proof of concept through MSA and beyond. You'll make sure every early customer has a great experience, and you'll build the processes, playbooks, and team plan so we don't have to rebuild everything as we grow.
This is a hands-on role. You'll be doing the work, not just directing it.
What You'll Own
Own onboarding for new customers, with a focus on running proofs of concept that convert to MSAs
Build Coinbax's customer success function: onboarding playbooks, success metrics, escalation paths, and a hiring plan for as the team grows
Work closely with product and engineering to turn customer feedback into fixes that remove onboarding friction
Partner with sales on handoffs, deal support, and expansion
Support compliance work, including SOC 2 readiness and customer security and vendor due diligence reviews
Manage customer communication and handle problems directly and calmly when things go wrong
What You Bring
8+ years in customer success, implementation, or operations at a B2B fintech or infrastructure company selling to financial institutions
You know how banks and credit unions buy, onboard, and run vendor reviews
Strong enough to push back when a customer is wrong, and willing to fight for them internally when they're right
A clear communicator with executives, engineers, and compliance teams
Comfortable building from zero at an early-stage company. You like having no playbook because it means you get to write one
Experience with SOC 2 or similar compliance programs is a strong plus. Payments or digital asset experience is a plus.
Nice to Have
Blockchain, stablecoin, or digital asset exposure. Familiarity with self-custody, smart contract escrow, on-chain settlement, or stablecoins such as USDC and USDG. We do not expect you to arrive fluent. We do expect you to be genuinely curious and to get there quickly, and we will invest in bringing you up to speed.
Experience with core banking platforms or the vendor ecosystem around them, particularly Jack Henry, Symitar, Banno, FIS, Fiserv, or Q2.
Familiarity with card, ACH, wire, RTP, or FedNow rails and how institutions actually operate them.
What Success Looks Like in Year One
Every POC has a clear plan, owner, and success criteria, and conversion to MSA improves.
A documented onboarding and customer success playbook that a new hire could run.
A measurable drop in time-to-live for new customersA team and systems plan that scales without having to be rebuilt.
Benefits and Work Environment
Health, dental, and vision coverage
Remote-first, flexible schedule
Travel to customer sites, partner meetings, and industry conferences
Connecticut Innovations and its portfolio companies are equal opportunity employers. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
Work arrangement
