Forward Deployment Engineer

TimePay is looking for a hands-on Forward Deployment Engineer who will work directly with customers to understand technical requirements, manage integrations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful end-to-end deployments. You'll work closely with customers as well as the internal engineering/product teams, taking ownership of implementations from requirement understanding through production deployment and issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
Work directly with customers to understand their technical and integration requirements.
Build and manage integrations using REST APIs, webhooks and other API-based workflows.
Troubleshoot integration and production issues by analysing API requests/responses, logs and system behaviour.
Coordinate with internal engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Own customer deployments end-to-end, including implementation, testing, troubleshooting and rollout.
Build scripts or small technical utilities where required to support integrations.
Translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in Implementation Engineering, Integration Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Technical Consulting, Backend Engineering, or a similar technical role.
Hands-on experience with APIs and integrations.
Comfortable working with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks and authentication.
Good programming/scripting ability in Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, or similar.
Strong technical problem-solving and debugging skills.
Excellent communication and confidence interacting directly with customers.
Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive technical issues through to resolution.
Good to have:
Experience with Postman, SQL, cloud platforms, monitoring/logging or backend systems.
Experience working on customer implementations or production integrations.
Exposure to SaaS, fintech, payments or enterprise software.
Startup experience.
