A/V Support Specialist - Stuttgart Germany

SMX is seeking an Audio Visual (A/V) Support Specialist to provide information technology system engineering, cable plant technology support, system administration, and technical services for tactical systems and networks across a variety of platforms. This is an on-site role supporting multiple clients in Stuttgart, Germany, with less than 10% travel expected
As an A/V Support Specialist, you will oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of A/V control systems (including Crestron and AMX), Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) networks, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include ongoing sustainment, troubleshooting, and repair of network cabling (CAT6 and fiber optic) as well as support for executive and command-level technical systems. You will join a team providing executive support for multiple command staff departments and work both to maintain and enhance the organization’s technical capabilities
This position requires a Department of Defense Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and U.S. citizenship
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support and maintain conference rooms, executive suites, and desktop conferencing solutions
Design, install, operate, and maintain A/V systems and networked communication equipment, including VTC (Cisco and Microsoft Teams), display devices, microphones, and speakers
Program, service, and troubleshoot integrated A/V and telecommunication platforms such as Crestron, AMX, Vaddio, Tesira, Extron, and Cisco
Support Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems, including networking, voice, and satellite communications
Perform installation, testing, splicing, terminations, and repair for CAT6 and fiber optic cabling
Communicate and collaborate effectively with senior military personnel, customers, and technical teams
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution
Current Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+, or GSEC certification (higher-level certifications such as CASP+, CCNA, CCNP Security, or CCSP are also accepted)
Minimum of three years’ experience in computer networking and A/V communications installation and support with platforms such as Crestron, AMX, Tesira, Extron, and IPTV
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Experience with installation and maintenance of Cisco VTC and fiber optic/structured cabling
Effective communication skills
Strong technical problem-solving abilities, teamwork skills, and a systematic approach
Desired Skills and Experience
Familiarity with network infrastructure and security, including Netgear and Cisco managed switches, DNS, DHCP, and multicast
Advanced certifications such as CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)
Experience with server environments, including Windows Server, SharePoint, Exchange, Linux, VMware, and Cisco Unified Communications
Experience with Call Manager software
Current or eligible ECOPS/TESA Technical Expert Status
Positive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated team player

The proposed salary for this position is:
$110,000—$125,000 USD
