What you will be doing:
DG Agent (Dangerous Goods Agent) – FedEx
A DG Agent is responsible for the inspection, acceptance, processing, and handling of dangerous goods shipments in compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards, including the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and verify documentation related to dangerous goods shipments.
• Inspect packaging and labeling of DG shipments.
• Process and register DG shipments in operational systems.
• Ensure shipments comply with IATA, IMDG, ICAO, and FedEx regulations and procedures.
• Advise colleagues on dangerous goods handling procedures and requirements.
• Identify and correct discrepancies, non-compliance issues, and safety risks.
• Maintain communication with customers, Operations, Customs, and internal departments regarding DG shipments.
• Prepare and review reports and compliance documentation.
Support audits, inspections, and safety investigations.
Responsibilities
• Ensure safety throughout operational processes involving dangerous goods.
Comply with all applicable legislation, regulations, and company procedures related to dangerous goods.
• Prevent shipment delays through accurate and timely processing of DG shipments.
• Contribute to a safe working environment for employees, equipment, and transportation assets.
What do you bring with you:
• Secondary vocational education (MBO) level of working and thinking.
• DG certification (IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations) or willingness to obtain it.
• Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• Accurate, responsible, and safety-conscious.
• Strong administrative and communication skills.
• Experience in logistics, air freight, or transportation is an advantage.
