Delivery Helper

Position Purpose
The primary functions of the Delivery Helper are to load materials, locate jobsites, assist with backing procedures, prepare and restore jobsites, prepare the truck for the following day, and maintain trucks and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Comply with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly as they relate to OSHA and DOT requirements for the safety of all personnel.
Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure order accuracy.
Safely unload product and deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer.
Secure mud, equipment, metal, pallets, and other materials on the truck.
Assist with route navigation to jobsites.
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures.
Assist in preparing trucks and equipment for the following day's deliveries.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports
Reports to the department manager. No direct reports.
Travel Requirements
Frequent local travel to customer jobsites as part of daily delivery operations.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain standing 90% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Constantly move materials from commercial motor vehicles onto jobsites, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Constantly position oneself to unload and load materials from flatbed or boom trucks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Frequently move materials weighing up to 100 lbs. while unloading and loading flatbed trucks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to communicate with management, coworkers, and customers and exchange accurate information, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Constantly work in outdoor environments while making deliveries, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
Works primarily in outdoor jobsites, customer locations, and delivery environments. Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, traffic, moving equipment, and other conditions typical of construction supply and building materials operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and communicate information accurately.
Ability to safely load, unload, and handle building materials.
Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in building materials, construction, delivery, warehouse, or related industries.
Experience operating in active construction jobsites.
Familiarity with safe material handling practices.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred Education
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum Years of Work Experience
0-1 years of experience in delivery, warehouse, construction, or a related field.
Certifications
None required.
