Overview

The mandate of the Metallurgical Laboratory is to provide testing and analysis services with respect to materials both metallic and non metallic. The types of services offered include:
Hardness testing.
Mechanical testing.
Non destructive examination.
Heat treatment.
Cutting and grinding.
Metallographic examination.
Failure analysis.
Corrosion studies in high temperature and pressure autoclaves.
Miscellaneous bench top corrosion tests.
Your role
Conduct all operations related to the services offered by the Metallurgical Laboratory.
Document the testing results and services and present the findings to the customer.
Ensure the activities performed in the Metallurgical Laboratory are conducted safely and in accordance with operational procedures/practices.
Assist in the preparation of specifications and procedures used in the Met Lab.
About you
A degree from a community college in Metallurgy or equivalent is preferred.
LPI, UT, and/or MT certification(s) would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of metallurgy, welding inspections, and applicable industry standards, including ASTM testing requirements.
Strong practical aptitude with inspection and testing equipment.
Proficiency in computer and word-processing applications.
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
