ECA / Afterschool Leader

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
The duties outlined in this job description may be modified by the principal, with your agreement, to reflect or anticipate changes in the job, commensurate with the salary and job title. It will be reviewed in the context of the School Development Plan and Performance Management cycle.
Teaching and Learning
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate ECA and/or after school club sessions.
• Create a positive, inclusive and encouraging environment where students feel supported and motivated.
• Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities and levels of experience.
• Encourage students’ confidence, creativity, teamwork and personal development.
• Ensure activities are delivered in line with the school’s expectations, values and policies.
Recording and Assessment
• Maintain accurate attendance records for each session.
• Monitor student engagement and participation throughout activities.
• Provide feedback to the ECA Coordinator regarding student progress, achievements or any concerns when required.
• Complete any required administrative documentation linked to the delivery of the activity.
Other and responsibilities
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students throughout the activity.
• Follow all school safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour procedures.
• Report any safeguarding concerns, incidents or student welfare concerns immediately to the appropriate member of staff.
• Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled sessions.
• Maintain a safe, organised and suitable environment, including preparing and tidying equipment and resources.
• Communicate effectively with the ECA Coordinator and relevant school staff.
• Support the positive reputation of the school through professional conduct and positive interactions with students, staff and families.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• Experience working with children and/or young people in an educational, coaching or activity-based environment.
• Experience planning and delivering engaging activities or workshops.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Prior experience working in an English.
