The Zurn Elkay Supply Chain Internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing and distribution environment. Interns will develop technical, business, and leadership skills while supporting key supply chain and operations initiatives. This role provides exposure to procurement, inventory management, supplier relations, analytics, and continuous improvement projects.
The Supply Chain Intern will work closely with Supply Chain and Operations leaders to support daily business activities, analyze operational data, identify process improvements, and contribute to projects that drive efficiency and cost savings across the organization.
As a part of the intern program, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of the following:
Coaching and Mentoring – Interns participate in a structured onboarding program designed to introduce Zurn Elkay's culture, values, and business operations while receiving ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
Real Work Experience – This internship provides meaningful project work and business exposure. Interns will contribute directly to operational initiatives, analyze data, present recommendations, and support continuous improvement efforts that impact the organization.
Key Accountabilities
Analyze existing operations and propose innovative ideas to streamline procedures and reduce costs.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to operations. Generate reports and presentations summarizing key findings to assist in decision-making processes.
Assist in project planning and labor cost and resource allocation.
Maintain accurate documentation and records related to operations, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and performance metrics.
Collaborate with key leaders and teams to facilitate effective communication, resolve operational issues, and ensure alignment across departments.
Support material flow optimization projects by analyzing inventory movement, warehouse processes, transportation activities, and production workflows to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, reduced lead times, and lower operational costs.
Assist in evaluating supply chain processes and recommending improvements to enhance material availability, inventory accuracy, and overall operational performance.
Collect and analyze data related to material movement, production schedules, and inventory transactions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics teams to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements that improve the flow of materials throughout the supply chain.
Qualifications/Requirements
Currently pursuing a major in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, Finance (or related).
Must have at least a junior standing, a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or above
Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer
Efficient and detail-oriented
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient knowledge of MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
