About The Role
We are looking for an experienced HV Design Engineer - Grid Lines currently based in Latin America to join the company’s Dublin-based team.
As a HV Design Engineer on Grid Lines, you will be responsible for the engineering design and technical delivery of high-voltage grid-line infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate must be willing to relocate from Latin America to Ireland.
Relocation is mandatory and non-negotiable for this role.
The company will support and manage the relocation process for the successful candidate.
This is not a remote position. Once hired, the candidate will be expected to work on-site in Dublin, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver HV underground cable system designs.
Develop engineering solutions for grid connection projects interfacing with the Irish transmission and distribution systems.
Develop and review cable system designs, including cable selection, sizing, configuration, installation arrangements and associated infrastructure.
Undertake and/or review electrical engineering calculations, including cable rating, load flow, voltage drop, losses, short-circuit and other relevant system studies.
Develop cable route and installation solutions considering technical, environmental, planning, constructability and land constraints.
Define cable installation requirements, including trenching, ducts, joint bays, link boxes, bonding arrangements and associated infrastructure.
Support the design of cable systems incorporating appropriate bonding and earthing arrangements.
Ensure designs comply with applicable EirGrid and ESB Networks functional specifications, standards and technical requirements.
Review project-specific constraints and develop practical engineering solutions to address them.
Coordinate with civil, structural, environmental, planning, land, wayleave and other specialist disciplines.
Liaise with clients on any technical matters.
Review supplier and contractor submissions, drawings, calculations and proposals.
Participate in design reviews and client meetings.
Provide technical support during construction and respond to RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
Identify engineering risks and contribute to project risk assessments and mitigation measures.
Support the development of engineering standards, procedures, templates and best practice within the organisation.
Required Experience And Competencies
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience of working on projects associated with EirGrid and/or ESB Networks would be a significant advantage.
Demonstrable experience in HV underground cable system design.
Understanding of power system engineering principles and network connection requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and technical report-writing skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
