POSITION SUMMARY
This position serves as the subject matter expert for Revenue Cycle data, providing technical and operational support for analytics, reporting, automation, and workflow efficiency. This position will own the Revenue Cycle automation and workflow portfolio - including performance monitoring, maintenance, documentation, and continuous improvement - and analyzes operational and financial data to identify trends, support problem resolution, and partner with leaders and operational teams to improve processes, decision-making, and business performance.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides oversight for revenue cycle analytics, reporting, and business intelligence functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data used for operational, financial, client, provider, and organizational decision-making. Establishes analytical methodologies and prioritizes resources and workloads to meet departmental objectives.
2. Oversees the implementation, adoption, and optimization of reporting platforms, analytical tools, automation solutions, and emerging technologies, ensuring appropriate testing, validation, change management, and ongoing performance evaluation to achieve scalable, sustainable results.
3. Provides leadership to include recruiting, onboarding, development, engagement, performance management, recognition, and retention of assigned staff. Fosters an inclusive, innovative, accountable, and high-performing culture that supports employee growth, collaboration, succession planning, achievement of departmental goals, and effective resolution of employee relations matters.
4. Monitors and reports on team-level KPIs, productivity, quality, service levels, and operational and financial metrics—including accounts receivable, cash collections, adjustments, billing production, aging, reimbursement trends, auditing, and revenue integrity. Uses these findings to conduct root-cause analyses and drive sustainable process improvements supporting operational excellence, financial performance, and revenue enhancement.
5. Develops and maintains productive relationships with Revenue Cycle leadership, operational teams, clients, vendors, and internal partners. Collaborates to resolve complex billing, reimbursement, reporting, and workflow issues while communicating findings, recommendations, risks, and opportunities that support informed decision-making.
6. Establishes reporting standards and documentation, and ensures analytical processes, audits, and data management activities comply with organizational policies, payer requirements, regulatory standards, and data governance practices.

Hires, trains, and conducts performance management evaluations and directs the workflow for the staff.
SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY
Performs under minimal supervision. Customers are both internal and external. Clearly communicates complex billing issues as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to compile, validate, interpret, and communicate Revenue Cycle, financial, operational, and reimbursement data.
Demonstrated ability to oversee and support automation and workflow efficiency initiatives, including process assessment, solution implementation, performance monitoring, maintenance coordination, and continuous improvement activities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Revenue Cycle leadership, operational teams, and business partners to resolve issues and support departmental and company objectives.
Working knowledge of healthcare Revenue Cycle operations, billing processes, reimbursement methodologies, accounts receivable management, and performance reporting.
Advanced working knowledge of Xifin, SQL, Snowflake, HTML, relational database concepts, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Sigma, or other data visualization and analytical platforms. Experience utilizing reporting, database, visualization, and analytical tools to support operational and business decision-making.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple assignments while providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and workflow direction to Revenue Cycle Analysts staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics or related field or equivalent education and experience.
Three (3) years’ experience in revenue cycle.
Two (2) years’ experience in financial/data analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated leadership experience through prior supervisory responsibilities, formal leadership development, and/or leading significant analytics, automation, complex process improvement, and operational transformation initiatives.
Experience developing, testing, deploying and monitoring workflow efficiency initiatives, specifically robotic process automation.
Extensive knowledge of clinical laboratory operations.
Additional medical billing/insurance related experience.
Knowledge of ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, HCPCS coding, modifiers, and government and commercial payer guidelines.
Additional related education and/or experience.
