Supervisor, Building Facilities
The University of Miami/UHealth department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Supervisor, Building Facilities to work in Miami, FL. The Supervisor, Building Facilities plans operational policies and procedures, oversees facility staff and budgeting, and supervises the use of supplies and equipment. Moreover, this position coordinates and integrates the activities of all operational systems to ensure efficiency.
Keeps watch over facility equipment and ensures any repairs are completed in a timely fashion.
Maintains records associated with operating the facility, such as inventory of supplies.
Ensures compliance with applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Coordinates security efforts with facility staff and external entities, such as law enforcement.
Develops and maintains an emergency preparedness plan to protect the facility and its occupants.
Seeks and proposes ways to reduce costs while improving efficiency.
Liaises to external contractors to ensure services provided comply with agreed terms.
Provides guidance, training, and oversight to facility staff.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Training & Development: Providing employee training and motivation to enhance skills.
Team Leadership: Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
