Senior Technical Solution Architect, NNSA Classified Cloud
We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Senior Technical Solution Architect to lead the design, engineering, and delivery of secure, enterprise-scale classified cloud and hybrid environments across the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and its associated National Laboratories.
This senior technical leadership role is responsible for translating complex NNSA mission requirements into secure, high-performance, and compliant multi-tenant cloud architectures. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of deep cloud-engineering expertise, a mastery of federal cybersecurity frameworks (specifically for classified environments up to Q/Top Secret), and a proven track record of guiding complex agencies through modern cloud adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture & Vision
Define, design, and champion the multi-year technical roadmap for NNSA enterprise classified cloud environments (spanning Secret/RD and Top Secret/FRD enclaves).
Align emerging cloud capabilities (such as high-performance computing, secure AI/ML enclaves, and advanced data analytics) with critical NNSA modernization and stockpile stewardship missions.
Serve as the Principal Technical Authority and subject matter expert for NNSA cloud enclaves, ensuring all solutions meet stringent multi-tenant isolation, scale, and performance needs.
Security, Compliance & Governance
Architect end-to-end security frameworks adhering to ICD 503, CNSSI 1253, and NIST SP 800-53 controls at High Impact levels, ensuring rapid path-to-Authorization to Operate (ATO).
Implement zero-trust architectures, cross-domain solutions (CDS), and advanced identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) tailored to the NNSA’s unique security culture.
Partner directly with NNSA Authorizing Officials (AOs) and Security Control Assessors (SCAs) to streamline risk assessments and ensure continuous compliance of classified environments.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
Bridge the gap between corporate cloud engineering teams, product managers, and the technical leadership within NNSA Headquarters, Field Offices, the NNSA Labs, Plants, and Sites, and other DOE National Labs.
Lead technical capture support and draft high-scoring technical sections for major solicitations, translating complex architectural concepts into clear, mission-focused proposals.
Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, speed, and decisiveness ("moving at pace") in delivering secure solutions.
Experience & Credentials
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field (Ph.D. preferred).
Clearance: Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q or DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Certifications: Active professional-level cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) and DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
Technical & Agency Expertise
Cloud Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise systems engineering and architecture, with at least 5 years dedicated to designing and deploying AWS Secret/Top Secret or Azure Government Secret/Top Secret regions.
NNSA Familiarity: Demonstrable experience working with the NNSA, DOE, or the National Laboratories complex, with a solid understanding of nuclear security enterprise culture, operational workflows, and the M&O (Management and Operating) model.
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
