IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Freeport, ME. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings.
You will support work within project monetary budgets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to help meet project goals and client expectations. The role also includes design coordination, documentation, project-document review, and periodic job site observations.

What You'll Do
Assist with design portions of electrical system projects according to code and IMEG standards.
Assist with researching commercially available equipment resources.
Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
Assist with coordinating design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment-supplier disciplines.
Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check.
Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
What You'll Bring
Required Education
Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong interest in design consulting
Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Power distribution, lighting, and specialty electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure
From medium-voltage campus power to emergency power, UPS, and renewable integration
Critical-power experience for hospitals and high-density data centers
Tools include AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and AGi32

State of Maine Pay Range: $22.00–$24.00 per hour
The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.
Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
