A position as Research Academic Staff in Liver Oncology is available for motivated and independent candidate in the Andersen Group at BRIC, University of Copenhagen.
Our research/The group
The focus of our research is translational medicine in primary human liver and biliary tract cancers with emphasis on genome-wide and high-throughput techniques in the characterization of tumor heterogeneity, prognostic and predictive biomarker discovery and drug response to aid novel therapeutics and clinical efficacy. It is our goal to improve diagnosis, clinical decision-making and ultimately patient outcome through translational and pharmacogenomics discoveries. This is facilitated in our Group via interdisciplinary research (molecular biology, medicine and bioinformatics) as well as a strong national and international network of scientific and clinical collaborators.
Your job
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary research group that utilizes multi-omics technologies, including spatial transcriptomics, metabolomics, and high-throughput screening approaches, such as CRISPRi/a. We use molecular strategies to characterize and classify patient subgroups to identify oncogenic drivers and addiction networks with the aim of improving diagnosis and treatment. We unite research directly on patient samples and clinical data with basic molecular in vitro and in vivo models.
A requirement for this position is a strong track record in molecular biology, cell biology, and proven experience in high-throughput screening in liver cancer. Emphasis will be given to a candidate with a proven background in cell and molecular biology (CRISPR, NGS, etc.).

Qualifications
We expect you to be a highly motivated and highly ambitious scientist with the following qualifications:
A PhD (or alike) in life sciences (molecular biology and/or biochemistry).
Documented experience in liver cancer biology.
Previous experience in e.g., CRISPR technologies.
Knowledge of broad range cell biology techniques and data analysis.
The candidate is independently, experience in mentoring and laboratory management.
Ability to function in a collaborative environment is essential since our group is multi-disciplinary and involved in many collaborations at national and international level.
Excellent English skills both written and spoken.
Place of employment
The employment is at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. BRIC is located in the Biocenter, close to the centre of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and a number of core facilities shared between the 26 research groups at BRIC and the neighboring Finsen Laboratory. Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
The position is a permanent position. The starting date is December 1st.
Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 18.07 % to your pension fund.
