Alternatives - Fund Controllers - Analyst

As an Alternatives Fund Controller Analyst in the Alternatives Fund Management team, you drive accurate, timely fund financial operations across onboarding, reporting, and governance. You partner daily with third-party administrators and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting, reporting, and valuation matters. You help deliver well-controlled outcomes by coordinating service providers, supporting regulatory reporting needs, and contributing to strategic initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Onboard new funds by reviewing offering materials, opening fund bank accounts, coordinating setup with fund administrators, and preparing fund budgets.
Approve net asset value packages, associated financials, investor allocations, cash management activity, and audited or unaudited financial statements, including notes to accounts.
Oversee capital event communications, including capital calls and distributions.
Validate quarterly performance reports for private equity fund-of-funds portfolios.
Process subscriptions and redemptions for hedge funds and multi-asset funds.
Coordinate day-to-day deliverables with third-party fund administrators to address accounting issues and work through reporting and valuation items.
Prepare regulatory filings or the data used for regulatory reporting.
Monitor third-party service providers and compile board meeting materials.
Support special projects and strategic initiatives led by the Fund Controllers team.
Liaise with third-party fund administrators, independent auditors, depositaries, and tax preparers to support smooth day-to-day fund financial operations.
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
Demonstrate 2+ years of fund accounting experience across private equity and/or hedge funds.
Apply partnership accounting experience, including capital or unitized structures.
Explain private equity and hedge fund mechanics with practical understanding.
Produce financial statements and related support, including preparation and/or review.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Exhibit strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Navigate complex issues by understanding multiple perspectives and negotiating solutions across stakeholders.
Lead by example through a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable working style.
Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
Hold a Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant qualification.
Present clearly in senior management forums through strong verbal and written communication.
Build strong partnerships through effective interpersonal skills and team collaboration.
Delegate work effectively by setting clear priorities and deploying team resources appropriately.
Influence across groups by building consensus and achieving shared understanding on complex topics.
