About the Role:
Northern Kentucky University’s School of Allied Health is seeking applications for an adjunct faculty member to join the online accelerated Master of Science in Health Administration Program. The School of Allied Health, housed within the College of Health and Human Services, is a multidisciplinary unit offering both graduate and undergraduate clinical and non-clinical degree programs.
Adjunct faculty members work under the leadership of MSHA full-time faculty members. Courses are designed by full-time faculty members according to NKU policies and standards. Adjunct faculty members assist full-time faculty members in presenting the course content assigned. Courses are delivered in seven-week online sessions using Canvas.
Faculty are expected to maintain regular instructor presence, respond to student inquiries within 24-48 hours, provide substantive feedback on assignments, and submit final grades according to university deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:
Teach assigned courses as specified in the schedule and course contract fully online through NKU’s learning platform.
Complete mandatory training for online instruction.
Teach assigned courses in accordance with the approved syllabus, learning objectives, and instructional plan.
Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes through assignments, projects, discussions, and/or exams.
Administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics.
Provide feedback on student progress in a timely manner.
Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages meaningful student engagement, respectful discussion, and academic success.
Support student learning through regular communication, substantive feedback, and timely responses to student inquiries.
Be available for student consultation.
Maintain accurate and timely student records and grades within university systems
Adhere to all expectations and policies as outlined in the provided NKU Faculty Handbook sections and applicable NKU policies.
Qualifications:
All adjuncts complete all program online instruction orientation(s) and training(s) regardless of previous online instruction experience or training. Candidates must have reliable high-speed internet, a webcam, microphone, and a computer capable of supporting current versions of web conferencing and learning management software.
Earned doctoral degree (PhD, JD, MD, DHSc, DHA, etc.) in health administration/management, health policy, health law or related discipline. Demonstrated expertise through education and professional experience sufficient to teach graduate healthcare administration coursework. At least 5 years of experience as a leader/administrator in the healthcare industry.
Skills and Knowledge Preferred:
Prior teaching experience in a graduate or undergraduate program or corporate training
Ability to use technology effectively in teaching
Professional certifications such as FACHE, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CPHQ, CHFP, etc.
Experience in healthcare executive leadership.
