Your Role at Delta Faucet:
The Smart Manufacturing Transformation Engineer leads the patterned advancement of Delta Faucet Company's manufacturing operations toward Industry 5.0. In this role, Industry 5.0 pairs human creativity and critical thinking with smart machinery and artificial intelligence to advance societal well-being, environmental sustainability, operational resilience, and manufacturing performance.
Using a repeatable People-Process-Technology framework, this position assesses manufacturing capabilities, defines future-state operating models, establishes enterprise standards, and delivers scalable smart-manufacturing solutions. The engineer works directly with operators, technicians, maintenance, engineering, plant leadership, Information Systems, Information Security, and external partners to ensure solutions are usable, secure, supportable, and tied to measurable business outcomes.
The role is accountable for strengthening workforce capability, improving operational performance, increasing resilience, and enabling sustainable growth across the DFC manufacturing network, including the integration of new or acquired facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PEOPLE: HUMAN-CENTERED MANUFACTURING TRANSFORMATION
Partner with operators, technicians, engineers, supervisors, and plant leaders to identify opportunities that improve safety, employee effectiveness, decision-making, and the overall work experience.
Lead plant-floor observations, discovery sessions, capability assessments, and future-state workshops that give employees an active role in shaping transformation.
Design solutions that augment human expertise and critical thinking rather than focusing solely on automation or labor replacement.
Translate workforce and operational needs into clear business, process, data, user-experience, and technical requirements.
Enable intuitive manufacturing visibility through contextualized dashboards, digital work instructions, connected-worker tools, and knowledge-management solutions.
Develop change-management, communication, training, adoption, and reinforcement plans for smart-manufacturing initiatives.
Build networks of plant champions, process owners, and subject-matter experts who sustain adoption, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement.
Measure adoption through utilization, proficiency, employee feedback, process adherence, and demonstrated business value.
PROCESS: OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE, RESILIENCE, AND SUSTAINABILITY
Assess manufacturing workflows, automation maturity, data availability, system dependencies, workforce readiness, and governance practices across DFC facilities.
Document current-state process flows, information flows, decision points, system interactions, material movement, constraints, and sources of variation.
Define future-state operating models and maintain a multi-year smart-manufacturing roadmap aligned with business strategy and plant priorities.
Apply a patterned transformation method spanning assessment, prioritization, design, pilot, validation, deployment, stabilization, sustainment, and continuous improvement.
Prioritize initiatives using employee impact, safety, quality, throughput, downtime, resilience, sustainability, cybersecurity, implementation risk, scalability, and expected value.
Develop business cases that define outcomes, CAPEX and OPEX assumptions, resource needs, dependencies, risks, and value-realization measures.
Design capabilities that improve continuity and recovery from equipment failures, workforce constraints, cyber events, technology outages, and supply-chain disruption.
Identify opportunities to improve energy and water use, production yield, material consumption, scrap, equipment utilization, and maintenance effectiveness.
Lead post-implementation reviews and incorporate results, corrective actions, and lessons learned into standards and deployment playbooks.
TECHNOLOGY: INTELLIGENT AND CONNECTED MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS
Develop and maintain reference architectures for intelligent automation, industrial connectivity, manufacturing applications, industrial data, analytics, cybersecurity, and human-machine collaboration.
Define scalable standards for controls, SCADA/HMI, MES, CMMS, IIoT, industrial historians, edge computing, integration services, dashboards, digital workflows, and material-handling technologies.
Establish principles for industrial data acquisition, contextualization, quality, ownership, retention, access, visualization, and lifecycle management.
Evaluate artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, computer vision, and digital-twin capabilities when tied to a defined business or employee-centered use case.
Ensure AI-enabled solutions use reliable data, include appropriate human review, and align with applicable company governance.
Lead initiatives from concept and requirements through architecture, vendor selection, design, testing, commissioning, validation, deployment, stabilization, and transition to operational ownership.
Coordinate vendors and system integrators, review technical designs, manage technical risks, and verify alignment with operational and enterprise standards.
Embed OT cybersecurity, access control, monitoring, backup and recovery, patching, version management, incident response, obsolescence planning, and lifecycle funding into solution designs.
Evaluate technology based on employee usability, operational value, interoperability, cybersecurity, maintainability, scalability, resilience, sustainability, and total cost of ownership.
ENTERPRISE GOVERNANCE, SCALING, AND M&A INTEGRATION
Establish governance for decision rights, architecture review, platform selection, standards ownership, exceptions, investment prioritization, deployment approval, and performance monitoring.
Create a common Industry 5.0 maturity framework and site-readiness criteria across People, Process, and Technology capabilities.
Develop deployment waves that scale proven capabilities across the DFC manufacturing network while accounting for legitimate site differences.
Support due diligence and integration planning by assessing workforce capability, processes, automation maturity, systems, industrial data, cybersecurity, support models, risks, and investment needs.
Develop integration roadmaps that protect continuity, respect existing site knowledge, and progressively align facilities with DFC standards.
PROGRAM LEADERSHIP AND BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
Communicate strategy, roadmap status, investment needs, risks, dependencies, outcomes, and lessons learned to plant and enterprise stakeholders.
Facilitate decisions across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Information Systems, Information Security, Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, and external partners.
Prepare executive-ready recommendations that translate technical opportunities into workforce, operational, financial, sustainability, and resilience outcomes.
Maintain initiative plans, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, financial assumptions, success measures, and value-realization status.
Influence stakeholders across a matrixed organization without relying solely on direct authority.

Required Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to connect manufacturing strategy, workforce needs, operational processes, industrial data, automation, and technology architecture.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, industrial engineering, automation, maintenance, production systems, or digital manufacturing.
Experience leading cross-functional manufacturing or technology initiatives from business need through implementation and sustainment.
Ability to assess complex manufacturing environments, recognize patterns, define future-state capabilities, and translate findings into executable roadmaps.
Experience developing or applying standards, architectures, operating models, governance frameworks, or repeatable deployment methods.
Experience with industrial controls, SCADA/HMI, MES, CMMS, IIoT, industrial historians, analytics, robotics, material handling, or connected-worker solutions.
