Security Staff - On Board

SUMMARY
The Security Staff plays a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment onboard the yacht, supporting the Head of Security in implementing and executing security protocols to protect both guests and crew. The Security Staff will be responsible for conducting routine security patrols, overseeing safety checks, and assisting in emergency response situations. With a focus on operational oversight, the Security Staff ensures that all safety equipment is operational and that security measures are followed during daily operations and guest activities. This position requires a professional with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to security.
The role combines operational duties with a focus on maintaining a seamless guest experience, ensuring that security measures do not interfere with the luxury and hospitality onboard the yacht. The ideal candidate will have a background in security or law enforcement, with the ability to think quickly in high-pressure situations and work collaboratively with the yacht's team.

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE
At least 2-3 years of experience in a security role, preferably in a maritime, luxury yacht, or hospitality setting. Experience in emergency response, surveillance, or crisis management is an advantage.
Willingness to live and work onboard for extended periods, traveling to various global destinations as part of the yacht's operational schedule.
CERTIFICATIONS
STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping) certification is required. Additional certifications in first aid, fire safety, or crisis management are preferred.
OUTCOMES
Security Operations and Patrols
· Conduct Routine Security Patrols: Regularly patrol key areas of the yacht, including guest areas, crew zones, and sensitive areas, to monitor for potential security risks or safety hazards.
· Monitor Security Systems: Oversee the operation of CCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly and reporting any malfunctions to the Head of Security.
· Security Screening: Assist in conducting security screening for guests, crew, and visitors at embarkation points, gangways, and during tender operations, including baggage checks, body scanning, and use of security tools (e.g., X-ray, metal detectors).
Emergency Response and Crisis Management
· Assist in Emergency Situations: Respond to security incidents and emergencies onboard, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, and security breaches, by following established protocols and coordinating with relevant departments.
· First Responder: In case of incidents involving security threats or emergencies, act as a first responder and assist in managing the situation, ensuring the safety of guests and crew.
· Participate in Security Drills: Actively participate in regular security drills and exercises, including emergency evacuation, active assailant response, and anti-terrorism training.
Security Reporting and Documentation
· Security Incident Reporting: Document and report any security-related incidents, suspicious activities, or irregularities in accordance with company protocols and industry regulations.
· Logbook Maintenance: Maintain detailed records of security activities, patrol logs, security checks, and equipment inspections, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Guest and Crew Safety
· Guest Safety Assurance: Ensure that all guests feel safe and secure during their time onboard, while maintaining a discreet, professional, and guest-friendly demeanor.
· Conflict Resolution: Address any conflicts or disturbances among guests or crew members in a calm and professional manner, prioritizing conflict resolution and maintaining a peaceful onboard environment.
· Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols, including emergency exits, muster stations, and evacuation procedures, and assist in the safety briefings for guests and crew.
Coordination with the Security Team
· Team Support: Work collaboratively with the Head of Security, security team, and other departments to maintain a coordinated security operation across the yacht.
· Assist with Security Training: Support the Head of Security in delivering security training and drills for all crew members, ensuring that everyone is familiar with security protocols and emergency procedures.
Maintenance and Operation of Security Equipment
· Inspect and Maintain Security Equipment: Regularly check and ensure that all security equipment, including alarms, CCTV cameras, access controls, and other safety devices, are in proper working order. Report any issues or required maintenance to the CSO.
· Monitor Ship Security Alert System (SSAS): Ensure that the SSAS is functional and test the system as required, familiarizing crew members with its operation and ensuring readiness for emergency scenarios.
Leadership and Collaboration:
Ability to work effectively as part of a security team, demonstrating leadership during security incidents and ensuring smooth coordination with other departments.
