ROLE OVERVIEW
Job Summary
The Relief Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) provides coverage during the absence of core staff to ensure the safe, effective, and consistent delivery of EarlyON programs. The RECE maintains program continuity by facilitating play-based learning experiences, supporting children and families, maintaining a welcoming and safe environment, completing required documentation, and collaborating with team members and community partners.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Program Coverage - Deliver EarlyON programs and maintain service continuity during staff absences, ensuring programs operate safely and effectively
Facilitate Child-Centred Learning Experiences - Lead and support play-based activities that promote children's learning, development, and well-being.
Support Families and Caregivers - Build positive relationships with participants, provide information on child development, and connect families with community resources as appropriate.
Maintain a Safe and Welcoming Environment - Set up and clean program spaces, monitor safety, sanitize equipment, and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
Complete Administrative and Team Functions - Maintain attendance and program records, support data collection and evaluation activities, and collaborate with colleagues to meet program needs.
WHAT YOU BRING
Post-Secondary education in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Early Learning and Community Development, or equivalent.
1-2 years of related experience in early childhood education, EarlyON, child care, or family support programs, with demonstrated ability to facilitate play-based programming and engage children and families effectively.
Registration in good standing with College of Early Childhood Educators
Knowledge of child development and play-based early learning. Including "How does learning happen"
Knowledge of community resources and services available to support children and families.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
Additional Language Capacity, an asset. French, Somali, Arabic, or Farsi.

Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C
Salary
$27.81/hr - $32.70/hr +4% in lieu of benefits
