About The Role
This person will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's manufacturing engineering and operations. This includes developing and implementing strategies to optimize production processes, ensuring quality standards are met, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports directly to the CEO and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Operations Management
Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business goals.
Drive plantation expansion and productivity improvement initiatives.
Monitor operational performance and establish KPI-driven management systems.
Ensure optimum utilization of resources to maximize yield and profitability.
Plantation & Crop Management
Oversee oil palm plantation operations, including nursery management, planting, maintenance, irrigation, nutrition, and pest control.
Ensure adoption of best agronomic practices for improved Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) productivity.
Monitor plantation health and implement corrective measures as required.
Lead replantation and area expansion programs.
Farmer Development & Extension Activities
Build and maintain strong relationships with oil palm farmers and stakeholders.
Develop farmer engagement programs to improve productivity and cultivation practices.
Conduct training and awareness programs on modern oil palm cultivation techniques.
Ensure compliance with company and government farming guidelines.
Harvesting & Supply Chain Management
Ensure timely harvesting and transportation of FFB from plantations to processing facilities.
Optimize logistics operations to minimize losses and maintain fruit quality.
Monitor quality standards throughout the supply chain.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Prepare annual budgets and operational plans.
Monitor costs and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
Analyze operational expenditure and productivity metrics for continuous improvement.
Compliance, Sustainability & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and sustainability regulations.
Maintain workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
Identify operational risks and implement mitigation plans.
Promote sustainable agricultural practices and resource conservation.
Team Leadership & People Management
Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across plantation operations.
Establish performance goals and conduct periodic performance reviews.
Build leadership capabilities and succession plans within the operations team.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with government agencies, agricultural institutions, industry bodies, and local communities.
Collaborate with processing mills, procurement teams, and support functions to ensure smooth business operations.
Represent the organization in industry forums and stakeholder meetings
Who are we looking for?
Education
BE or BTech Chemical or Mechanical
Experience
15-25 years
Skills
Chemical or Mechanical Engineer with adequate experience in handling agrochemical plant operations at various locations. Will be responsible for Production, Maintenance, Delivery, Quality and Safety. Good Communication Skills and Leadership qualities are a must.
Someone who has handled Gujarat projects is preferred and should have liaisoned with government officials. Should have hands-on experience in execution of large capex.
