Job Title / Role: Strategic Planner - R &D
1. Role Purpose
Partner with the CTO to translate the technology vision into executable plans, governance mechanisms and measurable outcomes. The role will integrate strategic planning, portfolio tracking, budget coordination and leadership reporting across technology and product-development priorities.
2. Key Responsibilities
Support the CTO in developing and periodically refreshing the technology roadmap and long-range plan, aligned with enterprise priorities.
Convert strategic priorities into annual operating plans, milestones, KPIs and clear ownership across functions.
Coordinate portfolio reviews covering technology programs, product-development initiatives, digital engineering and capability-building projects.
Prepare concise dashboards, decision notes and review packs for the CTO and leadership forums; track actions to closure.
Coordinate CAPEX, REVEX and manpower planning with Finance, HR and functional leaders; monitor utilization and variances.
Identify dependencies, risks and execution gaps across programs and facilitatetimely escalation and resolution.
Drive governance cadence, policy deployment and continuous-improvement initiatives across the technology organization.
Conduct internal and external benchmarking, synthesize insights and support strategic recommendations.
Maintain accurate planning data, documentation and audit readiness for relevant governance processes.
3. Key Deliverables / Measures
Timely completion of strategic plans, review packs and leadership reports.
Progress against technology roadmap milestones and portfolio KPIs.
Budget and resource-plan adherence, with early visibility of deviations.
Closure of review actions, key risks and cross-functional dependencies.
Quality, accuracy and usefulness of decision-support insights.
4. Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline; MBA or postgraduate qualification is preferred.
6–10 years of experience in corporate planning, strategy, program management, product development or technology planning, preferably in automotive or manufacturing.
Strong proficiency in data analysis, presentation development and project / portfolio tracking tools.
