Details about this opportunity:
Location: Suffolk County, NY (school based)
Hours: Daytime hours vary by school district; typically 25–32 hours per week (for example, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m.)
Schedule: Follows the school district calendar, including holidays and breaks
Compensation: $22–$28 per hour
Assignment: May include 1:1 student support or support across a special education or general education classroom

Opportunities for training and professional growth, including RBT and BCBA supervision when applicable
Responsibilities:
Support students with organization, transitions, communication, social interactions, and daily living needs, which may include mobility and hygiene
May include implementation of relevant components of a student’s IEP, behavior support plan, or skill-building program as directed and within the aide’s role
May include collect data and sharing objective observations with the teacher, behavior consultant, or clinical supervisor as requested
Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, school psychologists, social workers, behavior consultants, and related service providers
Support a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment. Complete and apply required safety or crisis prevention training when assigned
Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with applicable state and federal requirements
Demonstrate Family of Kidz core values in interactions with students, families, and school teams
About You:

A passion for supporting children and adolescents with diverse learning needs
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students gain independence
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
The ability to follow instructional plans, accept feedback, and collaborate with a school team
Sound judgment and respect for student confidentiality
The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy school environment
And this background:
High school diploma required
At least six months of supervised experience working with children or adolescents with special needs
Reliable transportation
Current enrollment in or completion of an undergraduate program in education, psychology, human services, healthcare, or a related field preferred
Experience supporting students with autism, learning differences, or behavioral needs preferred
Experience in a special education classroom or 1:1 school assignment preferred
Bilingual skills are a plus
