Cenovus Energy is seeking a talented Process Engineer to join our team at the Toledo Refinery. Reporting to the Manager, Process Engineering, you'll serve as the technical advisor for an operating area of the refinery, providing objective evaluations of process challenges and driving continuous improvements in safety, reliability, and business performance.

What you’ll do:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Provide process engineering support and technical expertise within defined areas of accountability, applying process engineering, process control, and process technology to achieve safe, reliable, and optimal operations
Optimize variable costs by using technical knowledge and a proactive approach to energy management
Analyze variances between the commercial plan and actual performance, and help the optimization team close gaps
Participate in HAZOPs, LOPAs, and incident investigations
Support reporting and verification activities for safety and environmental compliance, including Title V
Ensure safe operating limits and availability operating envelopes are understood, and investigate and resolve recurring SOL/SDL exceedances
Initiate and lead Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Minimum Expectations (PSME) gap analyses
Identify and justify turnaround scope, and support turnaround planning and execution

Who you are:
Legally authorized to work in the US
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required
2+ years experience in refining or a similar process industry (chemical, manufacturing, or nuclear) required
Previous refinery experience or experience within a closely related process industry considered an asset
