JOB MISSION:
We’re building an internal Anaplan capability to support our Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) and Assortment Planning (AP) platforms as they move from implementation into steady-state ownership. This role is the technical anchor of that team: a hands-on senior model builder who can also operate as a solution architect — designing, building, and governing the models rather than just executing against someone else’s blueprint. In this role, you will collaborate closely with broader IT, Digital Product, and business transformation teams to ensure solutions are effectively integrated, adopted, and fully leverage the capabilities of the Anaplan platform. You’ll spend your time in the models, but you’ll also participate in architectural decisions, set build standards for a small team of model builders, and serve as the internal counterweight to our systems’ integrator partners. This is a hybrid role , expected to be onsite between Tuesday to Thursday every week.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Design, develop, test, and support Anaplan solutions across Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) and Assortment Planning (AP), including modules, lists, dashboards, workflows, and integrations.
Leverage deep expertise in Anaplan Polaris architecture to design scalable, high-performance planning models.
Utilize hands-on experience with Anaplan MFP and/or AP applications; experience with any Anaplan application suite is highly valued.
Own the end-to-end technical architecture, including model design, Data Hub architecture, workspace management, sizing strategy, and performance optimization.
Lead and support implementations utilizing Anaplan Data Orchestrator (ADO) for data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
Collaborate with Digital Product, Business Transformation, and business stakeholders to understand, document, and refine application requirements.
Establish and enforce model-building standards, documentation practices, and Anaplan Way (or equivalent) delivery methodologies across internal teams and implementation partners.
Serve as the technical authority for partner-delivered solutions by reviewing designs, validating implementations, challenging assumptions, and ensuring architectural consistency.
Oversee integrations between Anaplan and enterprise systems, ensuring reliable scheduling, monitoring, error handling, reconciliation, and data quality.
Partner closely with Merchandising and Planning teams to translate business planning processes into scalable, maintainable, and user-centric Anaplan solutions.
Provide Level 3 production support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and post-production enhancements.
Mentor junior, offshore, and partner model builders through code reviews, best-practice guidance, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Manage Anaplan tenant administration, including security management, user roles, workspace allocation, release management, and environment governance.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance model performance, streamline processes, and increase platform adoption across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS
5+ years hands-on Anaplan model building, including at least one full lifecycle implementation from design through hyper care
Certification: At least Anaplan Level 2 Certification, Level 3 is preferable.
Demonstrated ownership of model architecture decisions — not solely task-based build execution
Strong data integration experience (Anaplan Connect, CloudWorks, API-based integration, or comparable ETL tooling)
Proven ability to optimize model performance and manage workspace sizing constraints
Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate ambiguous planning requirements into structured designs
Experience working alongside systems integrators or managed service partners
Preferred Qualifications
Retail, footwear, apparel, or consumer products industry experience
Direct experience with Merchandise Financial Planning and/or Assortment Planning processes
Anaplan Solution Architect certification, or active progression toward it
Experience leading or mentoring distributed/offshore build teams
Familiarity with product-lane or product-team operating models
Exposure to planning-adjacent data science or AI/ML use cases
Boston, MA 80 Guest Street Only Pay Range: $104,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $155,500.00 Annual (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
