For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @ Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. The hospice receives patients from referring institutions throughout New York City and the entire tristate area. Summary: The Hospice Bereavement Client- Coordinator coordinates the Hospice Bereavement activities, and provides psychosocial and bereavement counseling to the hospice patients and families and takes part in Bereavement Department programs
Requirements
Licensed Master of Social Work, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or License Mental Health Counselor required.
Specialized training in the area of death and dying preferred or related field.
At least two years of hospice experience preferred.
Position requires ability to commute to multiple territories to ensure continuity of care.
A valid driver's license is required.(This requirement does not apply to positions assigned exclusively to Manhattan territory)
A vehicle is required to commute to patients. (This requirement does not apply to positions assigned exclusively to Manhattan territory)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Exhibits and ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.
Education:
Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
Salary: $89,712.81/ annually
