Pay Range
Base Salary: $53,000.00-$66,000.00 (commensurate with experience)
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join us as Supervisor for Child and Family Program Services.
This is a temporary, full-time position ending December 31, 2027.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Responsive Community Care, you will provide comprehensive mental health and case management for Mental Health Support for Families with Children Program funded by the Peel Connected Families: Parenting Support program.
The Supervisor for Child and Family Program Services manages a caseload of 63 families. In this position, you will conduct initial home assessments, regular field visits to clients; revise and update client care plans; develop discharge plans; assess the performance of field staff; link clients to the appropriate community resources; respond to service inquiries and process referrals from potential clients and external sources; conduct intake screening and assessments by phone or through on-site visits, develop individualized client care plans; provide information, referral services and system navigation support; assign, schedule and monitor a team of Child and Family Support Workers and volunteers and respond to inquiries regarding VHA programs and services.
The Supervisor will also participate in VHA services and quality initiatives and ensure all activities conducted within the policies, procedures and standards of confidentiality of VHA. #LI-CF1 #INVHACorp
Key Areas of Accountability:
Receives inquiries for service and conducts initial visits with clients to determine eligibility and collaboratively establish care plan
Schedules Child and Family Support Workers (CFSW) and supervises delivery of service to clients
Matches, schedules and supervises CFSW volunteers
Conducts Field Supervision on all clients receiving VHA services
Provides team leadership including team problem solving for service plans, Child & Family Support Workers (CFSWs) scheduling, supervision and other operational needs, among other items
Provides program support and administration, including documenting and inputting all client intakes, information relating to scheduling, client care plans, changes to service and all other documentation for Child and Family Support Workers (CFSW) among other items
Supports service outreach and program promotion
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is required; Master of Social Work (MSW) is preferred
Minimum of 3 years’ direct experience working with families with children facing mental health challenges
Registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) preferred
Demonstrated experience in family and mental health counselling, including crisis intervention and supportive counselling
Proven group facilitation skills, including program delivery and psychoeducational groups
Experience in client service coordination, case management, and staff supervision
Experience working collaboratively with Child and Family Support Workers, Volunteers, and Social Work students
Strong knowledge of community resources, social service systems, and best practices in family and mental health support
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Knowledge and experience with practical application of employment and health & safety legislation
Knowledge of the city, and the various components of the Agency preferred
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Computer skills in word processing and data entry
A valid Ontario Driver's license and use of a car on the job is required
