Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing leadership to the Patient Accounts Department of the Spencer Hospital.
Monitors appropriate indicators for staffing, productivity, quality, fiscal accountability, budget, and continuous improvement for the areas of responsibility.
Manages the operations of the department including human resources, legal and regulatory compliance, and providing professional and/or technical expertise.
Responsible for maintaining billed accounts receivable within established standards.
Acts as a role model for employees by initiating and accepting change.
Has good knowledge of all areas within the patient accounting departments and leads to ensure all areas work as a team.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Business preferred.
3 years medical business office experience preferred.
General knowledge of hospital policies and procedures of medical insurance, insurance forms, and Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
Excellent verbal and written skills, pronounced organizational skills, accomplished analytical skills.
Must have the ability to meet and communicate with staff, patients, visitors, and/or family members.
Schedule:
80 hour per pay period salaried exempt
Typical hours Mon-Fri; 8a-4:30p
The schedule may fluctuate based on the needs of the department
