Primary Function of Position
You will become a member of the da Vinci® Multiport Global Product Management team, helping drive successful global launches, upgrades, and commercial readiness for the dV5 platform. This role will report to a Sr. Group Product Manager within the Systems and Software Team and will serve as a central product management point of contact for hardware and software launch activities outside the U.S. You will lead cross-functional launch coordination and execution, develop scalable and repeatable launch processes, and partner closely with global commercial, product operations, engineering, regulatory, clinical education, and regional teams to ensure markets are ready to introduce and support dV5 capabilities. Success in this role requires strong operational leadership, attention to detail, strategic prioritization, and the ability to influence complex cross-functional teams without formal authority.
Essential Job Duties
Launch Logistics & Software Coordination
Lead end-to-end HW launch coordination, execution, and reporting for dV5 platform launches and upgrades, establishing clear milestones, owners, dependencies, risks, and escalation paths.
Develop and continuously improve consistent, repeatable, and efficient processes for launching systems and software after first market introduction, incorporating lessons learned to improve launch quality, speed, and predictability.
Drive commercial readiness for new-market launches and out-of-U.S. software launches, partnering with global marketing, sales, operations, training, regulatory, quality, and regional teams to identify and close readiness gaps.
Own system allocation planning and prioritization for internal systems/upgrades, balancing internal and external needs and aligning allocations to business priorities, launch timing, customer commitments, and available supply; manage demo system upgrades and readiness.
Lead out-of-U.S. individual country go-to-market readiness and launch execution, tailoring launch plans to country-specific requirements while maintaining alignment to global strategy and standardized processes.
Establish and maintain launch readiness requirements, criteria, and governance, ensuring technical, operational, commercial, regulatory, training, and market requirements are clearly defined, tracked, and met before launch.
Coordinate out-of-U.S. training readiness in partnership with Clinical Education, regional commercial teams, and other stakeholders, including training needs, timing, materials, deployment, and launch support.
Serve as the primary product management point of contact for out-of-U.S. launch stakeholders, providing clear communication, decision support, issue resolution, and escalation across global and regional teams.
Facilitate cross-functional launch meetings and working sessions, driving accountability and timely resolution of issues across engineering, product operations, supply chain, quality, regulatory, clinical education, marketing, sales, and regional organizations.
Partner with global markets to understand country-specific customer, operational, regulatory, and commercial needs and translate those insights into launch requirements, prioritization recommendations, and process improvements.
Use quantitative analysis, forecasting, market impact assessment, and stakeholder input to support launch sequencing, system allocation, and readiness decisions.
Develop a deep understanding of the dV5 platform, its hardware and software configurations, and the commercial and operational processes required to successfully introduce and sustain the platform globally.
Support product management activities across the product lifecycle as needed, including requirements development, design reviews, launch planning, post-launch feedback, and sustaining activities.
Required Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, operations, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in product management, marketing, sales, operations, engineering, program management, supply chain, or an equivalent role.
Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution, preferably in a regulated industry or medical device environment.
Demonstrated experience coordinating product launches, commercialization, operational readiness, or other complex business-critical rollouts.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies, deadlines, and competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and senior leadership.
Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without formal authority, including bridging communication among engineering, operations, commercial, training, regulatory, and regional teams.
Quantitative mindset with ability to use data, forecasting, and structured analysis to make prioritization and launch-readiness decisions.
Working Conditions
Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally, including travel to global markets for launch readiness, training, customer/commercial activities, and other business needs.
May require participation in operating room environments, customer sites, and other clinical settings, including compliance with applicable site credentialing requirements.
Role is primarily onsite and requires regular interaction with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Product management experience within medical devices, surgical robotics, healthcare technology, or another highly regulated industry.
Experience launching hardware and software products, particularly products with complex configurations, dependencies, or global commercialization requirements.
Experience with international or out-of-U.S. product launches and understanding of how country-specific regulatory, commercial, operational, training, and customer requirements affect launch execution.
Experience developing standardized launch frameworks, readiness criteria, governance processes, dashboards, or operating mechanisms that improve execution efficiency and consistency.
Experience with system allocation, demand planning, forecasting, supply constraints, or prioritization of limited resources across internal and external stakeholders.
Experience coordinating product upgrades, demo assets, installed-base activities, or configuration management.
Familiarity with medical device quality systems, design controls, regulatory requirements, and commercialization processes.
Experience partnering with regional commercial organizations and translating global product strategy into actionable country-level go-to-market plans.
Strong executive presence and presentation skills, with ability to synthesize complex information into concise recommendations and status updates.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience building analytical models, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Experience with robotic systems, surgical workflows, or clinical education and training programs.
