What will you do?
As the Senior Software Architect you will be responsible for defining functional designs and application systems architecture across various digital platforms. You will also:
Develop detailed architecture deliverables to solve business problems.
Oversee the architecture of cross-platform mobile applications and manage technical priorities.
Lead the evaluation and deployment of new technologies to add or enhance existing digital technical capabilities.
Translate business requirements into technical direction, provide leadership and mentoring to engineering teams, facilitate design discussions, and guide cross-functional teams toward digital solutions that meet business objectives.
Coordinate with upstream teams and stakeholders, assess dependencies for upcoming changes, and determine which capabilities should be implemented in the BFF, reused from existing upstream services, or shared across services.
Support bug triage and coordinate the resolution of complex problems that require fixes across multiple teams.
Ensure that solutions address security, performance, reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability requirements.
This position works directly with Slovakia based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT in the US.
What you have:
Background and experience:
Incremental modernization and continuous improvement: ability to assess the gap between the current and desired state, make pragmatic trade-offs, and define measurable steps toward improvement across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Data Architecture: Knowledge of processes, techniques and factors that affect data architecture; ability to design blueprints on how to integrate data resources for business processes and functional support.
IT Architecture: Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) architecture; ability to design and improve organizational IT structures, supporting business operations.
Platform Architecture: Knowledge of technologies and methods to design processing mechanisms and roadmaps to execute business application systems; ability to design these roadmaps and deploy supportive interfaces for end-users to access related systems, in accordance with standards and processes.
Experience leading responsive design application development teams.
Experience with React Native
Very good knowledge of JavaScript, and Git.
Understanding of REST APIs, document request model.
Excellent communication skills.
Top Candidates will also have:
Formal education in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Passion for design systems, code reusability and maintainability.
Interest in cross-platform mobile development.
Leadership experience on strategic projects.
