Marketing Manager — SFG
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time
Company: SFG
About SFG
SFG is a technology and creative agency helping businesses grow through web development, automation, branding, SEO, content, and digital solutions.
We are looking for a Marketing Manager to take ownership of how SFG gets attention, generates leads, builds its brand, and converts opportunities into clients.
This isn’t a role where your job is simply to post on social media.
You will be responsible for figuring out what we should be marketing, who we should be marketing to, where those people are, what messaging gets their attention, and how we turn that attention into business.
The Role
As SFG’s Marketing Manager, you will own the company’s day-to-day marketing operation.
You’ll work closely with the founder and team to develop and execute marketing strategies across social media, content, outbound marketing, partnerships, email, communities, and other channels that can generate business.
You’ll be expected to experiment, measure results, and improve continuously.
What you’ll be responsible for
Marketing Strategy
* Develop and execute SFG’s overall marketing strategy.
* Identify target industries, customer segments, and new opportunities.
* Research competitors and understand what is working in the market.
* Develop campaigns around SFG’s services, products, and offers.
* Turn business goals into measurable marketing initiatives.
Lead Generation & Growth
* Build systems for consistently generating qualified leads.
* Research potential clients and identify businesses that could benefit from SFG’s services.
* Develop outbound campaigns through channels such as LinkedIn, email, communities, and other relevant platforms.
* Explore partnerships, referrals, collaborations, and other acquisition channels.
* Track the entire journey from marketing activity to lead to client.
Content & Social Media
* Develop SFG’s content strategy across platforms.
* Plan and coordinate content that builds authority, generates attention, and creates demand.
* Work with designers, developers, writers, and other team members to produce content when necessary.
* Manage SFG’s social media presence and maintain consistent messaging.
* Identify trends and opportunities that SFG can use to grow its visibility.
Campaign Execution
* Launch and manage marketing campaigns.
* Test different messaging, offers, audiences, and channels.
* Monitor campaign performance and make decisions based on results.
* Maintain a clear record of what has been tested and what has worked.
* Improve campaigns rather than repeatedly doing the same thing.
Analytics & Reporting
* Track marketing KPIs including leads, conversion rates, engagement, traffic, acquisition sources, and revenue generated.
* Analyze performance and identify what is and isn’t working.
* Provide regular marketing reports and actionable recommendations.
* Connect marketing activity to actual business outcomes.
Brand
* Help define and maintain SFG’s brand voice and positioning.
* Ensure our messaging is consistent across our website, social platforms, campaigns, proposals, and other customer-facing channels.
* Help position SFG as a credible and differentiated technology company.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who thinks like a marketer and operates like an owner.
You should:
* Understand how businesses acquire customers.
* Be comfortable creating and executing marketing strategies from scratch.
* Know how to research an audience and identify where they spend their time.
* Understand content marketing, social media, outbound marketing, email marketing, and lead generation.
* Be comfortable experimenting and testing ideas rather than waiting for perfect instructions.
* Know how to use analytics to make decisions.
* Be a strong communicator and writer.
* Be able to work independently and take ownership of projects.
* Be organized enough to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
* Be commercially minded and understand that attention is useful, but revenue is the goal.
* Be willing to learn quickly and adapt when a strategy isn’t working.
Nice to have
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
* B2B marketing
* Agency marketing
* SaaS marketing
* LinkedIn growth
* Email marketing
* SEO
* Paid advertising
* CRM and marketing automation
* Copywriting
* Canva or other design tools
* Google Analytics / Search Console
* HubSpot or similar CRM platforms
* Community marketing
* Lead generation and outbound sales
What Success Looks Like
Your success won’t be measured by how many posts SFG publishes.
We’ll look at things such as:
* Qualified leads generated
* Marketing-sourced opportunities
* Clients acquired through marketing
* Conversion rates
* Growth of SFG’s relevant audience
* Performance of campaigns
* Cost and efficiency of acquisition
* Brand visibility and inbound interest
* Experiments conducted and lessons learned
The goal is simple:
Build a marketing system that consistently creates opportunities for SFG.
Requirements
* Proven experience in marketing, growth, digital marketing, or a closely related role.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to independently research, plan, execute, and analyze marketing campaigns.
* Strong understanding of digital marketing channels.
* Comfortable working remotely and managing your own priorities.
* A portfolio, case studies, previous campaigns, or measurable results are strongly preferred.
A degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is welcome, but practical ability and demonstrated results matter more to us than credentials.
Important
This is an ownership role.
You won’t be handed a complete marketing playbook and asked to follow it.
You’ll be expected to help build the playbook.
If you see a better way to market SFG, test it. If something isn’t working, figure out why. If you identify a new opportunity, pursue it.
We want someone who can look at SFG and say:
“Here is where our customers are. Here is how we’re going to reach them. Here is what we’re going to say. Here is how we’ll measure it. And here is what we’re going to change if it doesn’t work.”
