Sitecore Developer

MECCA is Australia and New Zealand’s largest premium beauty retailer, with millions of customers and a rapidly growing digital business.
We’re looking for a Sitecore Developer to join the digital technology team and help deliver meaningful improvements across MECCA’s Sitecore XM Cloud platform — spanning content delivery, component development, headless integrations and the modern web stack around it.
This is primarily a Sitecore engineering role, working across Sitecore XM Cloud, JSS / Content SDK and headless content delivery, extending into React, Next.js, TypeScript and .NET as MECCA’s Sitecore implementation moves further into headless and composable territory.
If you have solid experience with headless or composable CMS platforms (Contentful, Contentstack, Optimizely, Kontent.ai and similar), experience in React / Next.js / TypeScript skills, or backend experience building APIs and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services in C# / .NET, we’d still love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities Include
Building and improving components, content structures, integrations and headless content delivery on Sitecore XM Cloud
Developing and applying knowledge of Sitecore JSS / Content SDK, content modelling, rendering and publishing
Contributing to customer-facing experiences using React, Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript
Supporting backend services, APIs and BFF development using .NET
Owning small-to-medium features end-to-end, from requirements through to release
Troubleshooting Sitecore-related issues across development and production environments
Working with Product, UX and QA to turn requirements and designs into high-quality digital experiences
Contributing to code reviews, testing practices and documentation to help lift overall quality
Supporting and mentoring junior developers where relevant
What You Will Bring
Minimum 2+ years of commercial software development experience
Experience with Sitecore XM, XM Cloud, JSS, Content SDK, or a comparable headless/composable CMS
Strong working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and/or C#/.NET
Comfortable working across different parts of the stack rather than one narrow area
Solid understanding of APIs, HTTP, Git, debugging and testing
Experience building web applications, APIs or backend services
Ability to work with a good degree of autonomy, while knowing when to escalate or ask for input
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguity
Good communication and collaboration skills
Nice To Have
Experience with React, Next.js, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, BFF or microservice architecture, Azure/AWS, CI/CD, or eCommerce/customer-facing digital environments.
This role is based in Richmond and works to MECCA’s four-days-per-week in-office rhythm. You’ll be joining a fast-paced retail technology environment where priorities can move quickly, so this will suit someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable learning on the job, and is motivated by building digital experiences that customers actually use.
