What This Job Involves
The Facilities Manager serves as the single point of contact for facilities management operations, supporting the Regional Manager and Corporate Real Estate team in delivering high-quality facility management services. This role coordinates tenant requirements and manages service delivery to ensure client satisfaction and operational excellence.
What Is Your Day-to-Day?
Support the Area Manager in implementing short- and long-term client projects while leveraging AI tools to streamline project planning, resource allocation, and timeline optimization for increased operational efficiency.
Develop and implement innovative programs, processes, and procedures that reduce operating costs and increase productivity. Collaborate closely with the Facility Management Lead and client stakeholders, utilizing AI-powered analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvement areas.
Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams including technical, administrative, and vendor personnel within a matrixed organization. Provide direct people management including performance evaluations, professional development planning, and career coaching. Foster collaborative relationships across departments to drive aligned outcomes and build team capabilities through regular mentorship and structured development initiatives.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for the client, employing AI-assisted data aggregation and visualization tools to generate actionable insights and executive-ready presentations.
Manage capital and expense budgets in close collaboration with client representatives. Apply AI-driven forecasting models to improve budget accuracy and proactively identify variance trends.
Develop timely monthly and quarterly variance reports on all operating budgets for each property, utilizing automated reporting tools to enhance speed and accuracy.
Support the development and implementation of annual management plans for buildings within the assigned area.
Deliver compelling presentations to client executives, demonstrating strong executive presence and translating complex operational data into strategic recommendations that drive business decisions.
Respond to urgent facility issues and ad hoc client requests with timely, solutions-oriented support during business and after-hours periods as needed to ensure continuous operations and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
Experience and Skills:
Minimum 6 years of industry experience in corporate environments, third-party service provision, or consulting
Strong people management and organizational skills within matrixed organizations
Proven experience managing, developing, and retaining technical and administrative staff with demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire high-performing teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders
Strong presentation skills with experience delivering to C-suite audiences and translating technical information into business value
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and building collaborative partnerships across organizational boundaries
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in MS Office, MS SharePoint, and AI productivity tools for workflow optimization
Computer proficiency in CMMS/Work Order systems and emerging AI-enabled facility management platforms
Operational Requirements:
Ability to supervise vendor performance during normal and off-hours, including weekends when necessary
Flexibility to respond to emergency situations and ad hoc requests outside standard business hours
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Knowledge of real estate, telecommunications, furniture, accounting, and building systems
Experience with oversight of multiple facilities with varied functions
Experience implementing AI solutions for operational efficiency improvements
Proven track record of mentoring, coaching, and developing team members across functional areas with measurable impact on employee growth and retention
