Principal Consultant

Digital Transformation | AI | Superannuation & Financial Services
IQ Group is looking for a Principal Consultant who can operate at the intersection of business analysis, delivery leadership, technology advisory and AI-enabled transformation.
This is an opportunity for a senior consulting professional who can step beyond traditional BA or delivery responsibilities — leading complex engagements, advising senior clients and identifying how digital, data and AI can solve real business problems across superannuation and financial services.
You’ll act as a Lead Business Analyst and/or Delivery Lead, bringing structure and direction to complex transformation initiatives while working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, architects and vendors to turn ideas into outcomes.
What you'll do
Lead transformation and delivery
Lead client consulting, advisory and digital transformation engagements across superannuation and financial services.
Act as a Lead BA and/or Delivery Lead, providing direction across complex programs and initiatives.
Lead discovery, workshops, requirements, process design, solution definition and delivery planning.
Apply Business Analysis, Project Management, Change Management and consulting capabilities to deliver measurable client outcomes.
Work across the full transformation lifecycle — from strategy and discovery through to solution delivery and implementation.
Drive digital, data and AI-enabled transformation
Work with clients to understand business challenges and identify opportunities for technology, data, digital and AI-enabled solutions.
Help clients understand where AI and emerging technologies can create practical value across processes, decision-making, customer experiences and operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities to modernise legacy processes, platforms and operating models.
Translate emerging technology into practical, commercially viable solutions rather than technology for technology’s sake.
Lead complex financial services transformation
You’ll have the opportunity to work across initiatives such as:
Claims and underwriting digital uplift, including digital platforms, APIs, AI solutions and complex insurance processes.
Administration platform modernisation, including platforms such as Sonata and Superb.
Member and employer communications transformation, identifying pain points and leading improvements end-to-end.
Document management and communications platform transformation.
Technology and process transformation across superannuation and broader financial services.
Build trusted client relationships
Build trusted senior-level relationships and act as a strategic advisor to clients.
Work confidently with executives and senior stakeholders while remaining comfortable getting into the detail with SMEs, technical teams and vendors.
Facilitate challenging conversations, navigate competing priorities and bring clarity to complex problems.
Develop trusted networks across the superannuation and financial services sector.
Grow the consulting business
Support the development of client relationships and new consulting engagements.
Contribute to IQ Group’s thought leadership, market presence and brand.
Mentor and provide leadership to consultants and delivery teams.
What you'll bring
We’re looking for a senior consulting professional who combines delivery leadership, business analysis, technology advisory, AI capability and commercial acumen.
You’ll ideally have:
Significant superannuation and/or financial services industry experience.
Strong experience as a Lead BA, Delivery Lead, Principal Consultant or Senior Consultant on complex technology and transformation programs.
Experience leading digital transformation across business processes, platforms and operating models.
A broad understanding of technology trends, products and solutions across financial services.
Practical understanding of AI, generative AI and emerging technologies, with the ability to identify and articulate meaningful use cases for clients.
Experience with administration platforms and transformation, ideally including Sonata and
Understanding of claims, underwriting, APIs, digital platforms, insurance processes and/or complex financial services products is highly regarded
Exceptional stakeholder management, facilitation, communication and influencing skills.
