St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne is seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Supervisor to lead the daily operation, maintenance and compliance of critical engineering and building services infrastructure across our Fitzroy Campus. As part of our Property & Infrastructure team, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe, reliable and compliant environment that supports exceptional patient care.

About the Role
Reporting to the State Engineering Supervisor, you will provide operational leadership for maintenance activities, contractor management, asset reliability and engineering compliance across the campus. You will oversee critical services including HVAC, Building Management Systems (BMS), electrical infrastructure, medical gases, fire services and essential services.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily engineering and maintenance activities across the Fitzroy Campus
Supervise engineering trades, maintenance staff and external contractors
Ensure preventative maintenance programs are completed effectively
Monitor and optimise BMS, HVAC, mechanical, electrical and fire systems
Respond to engineering incidents and service interruptions
Conduct routine inspections of plant and infrastructure assets
Manage contractor inductions, safety compliance and performance
Support delivery of minor capital works and infrastructure projects
Maintain statutory compliance records and documentation
Participate in emergency management and engineering response activities
Identify opportunities to improve asset reliability and energy efficiency
Prepare operational and compliance reports for management
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience supervising maintenance and engineering services in healthcare, facilities management or other critical infrastructure environments
Experience managing contractors and service providers
Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and asset management principles
Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS)
Sound technical understanding of HVAC, mechanical, electrical and essential services infrastructure
Strong understanding of WHS and compliance requirements
Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
Healthcare facilities maintenance experience
Knowledge of Australian healthcare accreditation standards
Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Building Services or a related discipline
